NOTE: This condition is not an alternative option to be used for replacement of protected trees; it is a minimum requirement. Trees must be of Florida Fancy or Florida #1 grade, no less than 2-inch caliper in size, and chosen from the Volusia County acceptable tree list, which can be found at http://www.volusia.org/environmental/permitting.\n\nThe applicant may remove all protected trees on site. Tree barricades will be required for any existing native trees that will be utilized to meet standards at final inspection. A total of (5) three-inch acceptable native trees must be planted on site (one tree per 2,500 square feet of total site area plus replacement for protected trees removed) prior to final tree inspection. Trees must be of Florida Fancy or Florida #1 grade, no less than 2-inch caliper in size, and chosen from the Volusia County acceptable tree list, which can be found at http://www.volusia.org/environmental/permitting. A per tree removal fee will be added per tree.\n\nReplacement trees are required to be maintained for a period of (2) years from the date of planting. Any tree that dies or is determined to be effectively destroyed within that period must be replaced within 60 days. The two-year maintenance period will begin anew whenever a tree is replaced. Upon final tree inspection, a tree notification card will be attached to a replacement tree that will inform the owner of replacement requirements and the two-year maintenance inspection. This card shall only be removed by the owner once the home is occupied.\n\nOne or more gopher tortoise burrows are located on or near this property. It is the responsibility of the owner and/or contractor to locate additional burrows which may be on site. All precautions are to be taken to protect the burrows during and following the construction activity and should include a twenty-five (25) foot buffer around each burrow. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission must permit the relocation of gopher tortoise(s) and a copy of the permit must be submitted to the County Environmental Management Division prior to clearing.
