Penal Code - PEN 18720. PART 6. CONTROL OF DEADLY WEAPONS [16000. - 34400.] TITLE 2. WEAPONS GENERALLY [17500. - 19405.] DIVISION 5. DESTRUCTIVE DEVICES, EXPLOSIVES, AND SIMILAR WEAPONS [18710. - 19290.] CHAPTER 1. Destructive Devices and Explosives Generally [18710. - 19000.] ARTICLE 1. Prohibited Acts [18710. - 18780.] Every person who possesses any substance, material, or any combination of substances or materials, with the intent to make any destructive device or any explosive without first obtaining a valid permit to make that destructive device or explosive, is guilty of a felony, and is punishable by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170 for two, three, or four years. Amended by Stats. 2011, Ch. 15, Sec. 532. (AB 109) Effective April 4, 2011. Amending action operative October 1, 2011, by Sec. 636 of Ch. 15, as amended by Stats. 2011, Ch. 39, Sec. 68. Section operative January 1, 2012, pursuant to Stats. 2010, Ch. 711, Sec. 10.
