This role ensures the integrity of financial data through accurate reconciliations, journal entries, sales tax compliance, and financial reporting.</p><p>The position also partners with leadership to identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and revenue growth, while supporting key financial and operational initiatives as directed by the Controller.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Reconcile all bank accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries in accordance with GAAP</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Calculate, prepare, and file multi-state sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations with the assistance of external vendors</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Generate monthly financial statements and conduct variance analysis, identifying and investigating unusual fluctuations</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Prepare supplemental financial reports to support management decision-making</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Manage and maintain deferred revenue schedules, ensuring accurate recognition in accordance with revenue recognition standards</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Utilize and maintain NetSuite, including supporting the Advanced Revenue Management module (experience preferred)</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requests</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Cross-train within the accounting team and provide support in other functional areas as needed</li></ul><p>Accountabilities:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Sales and use tax filings are accurate, complete, and submitted on time</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Financial statements are prepared accurately and delivered in a timely manner</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Deferred revenue is tracked and recognized correctly</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Payroll is processed with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Accounting processes comply with company policies and applicable accounting standards</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Financial statements are presented free from error and are timely</li></ul><p>Skills and Qualifications:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">5&ndash;7 years of progressive accounting experience</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Experience with NetSuite preferred</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Strong understanding of deferred revenue accounting and revenue recognition principles</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Proven experience calculating and filing sales and use tax</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Solid knowledge of GAAP and general ledger processes</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\">Ability to anticipate issues, solve problems, and take initiative</li><li style=\"margin-left: 24px;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\" lang=\"EN-US\" class=\"TextRun SCXW236212691 BCX0\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW236212691 BCX0\">Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment</span></span></li></ul><h2>About 95 Percent Group</h2><p>Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Lincolnshire, IL, 95 Percent Group is a national leader in literacy instruction for pre-K through grade 8.
