          "text": "<p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced step coach to guide a team at Uncommon Collegiate Charter High School.&#xa0; On our students' paths to and through college, nationally recognized competitive programs provide an edge for college admissions, but also for college persistence.&#xa0; The coach will be responsible for all aspects of competition, including identifying tournaments, registration, tryouts, motivating and preparing students, and keeping school leaders informed of progress.&#xa0; The coaching role is part-time and will report to the Student Talent Manager.&#xa0;&#xa0;</p><p><br>\n<strong>Responsibilities:&#xa0;</strong></p><p><u>Preparation &amp; Practice Time:</u><strong> Up to 6 hours a week</strong></p><ul><li><p>Up to 2 hours per week preparing for Projects, competitions, and after school practices.</p></li><li><p>Long-term coaching during “Projects”: Meet with students Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 hour each day, from August to June.&#xa0;&#xa0;</p></li><li><p>On average at least 6 hours of practice outside of school hours weekly, working directly with students to prepare for competition</p></li><li><p>Internal employees who also serve as coaches are responsible for the preparation and communication about any absences caused by team tournaments during their standard work hours</p></li></ul><p>&#xa0;</p><p><u>Competitions:</u><strong> at least 6 weekend tournaments over a 6-month period</strong></p><ul><li><p>Research and identify appropriate competitions and tournaments.</p></li><li><p>Sign up for competitions, in partnership with the school-based Student Talent Manager.</p></li><li><p>Coach and travel with students to at least all competitions</p></li><li><p>At least one competition should be recognized on a national level. These competitions should have regional/district qualifiers that can lead to competing on the national scale.</p></li><li><p>Chaperone students to at least 2 regional/local competitions that take place ahead of the national competition and can serve as preparation.</p></li></ul><p>&#xa0;</p><p><u>Family Communication</u></p><ul><li><p>Because of the significant time required for after-school practices, school-based Student Talent Managers and coaches identify team members and confirm commitment via signed parent permission form indicating after-school commitment</p></li><li><p>In partnership with the school-based Student Talent Manager, establish a family communication protocol using the Remind app to update families about competition, after school practices, and any other time outside of school that students will be doing club-related activities.</p></li></ul>",
