The EH&S Manager ensures the safety of all employees, visitors and contractors; protection of the environment and maintenance of compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations. Reporting to the Head of EH&S, the EH&S Manager works closely with the Corporate EH&S Director and Site Leadership as well as other EH&S team members to ensure program alignment across the larger Alcami organization.</p>\n<h2>On-Site Expectations</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>100% on-site position.</li>\n <li>1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Fosters a safety first and quality always culture across the campus and various business units.</li>\n <li>Be a customer service focused leader ensuring training, waste management, training and other support activities occur in an efficient and timely manner to support operations.</li>\n <li>Serves as a member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) as an advisor in safety and emergency topics.</li>\n <li>Ensures compliance with environmental regulations including RCRA waste management, wastewater permits, biological waste management and SPCC permits.</li>\n <li>Works closely with site management to identify and mitigate hazards and unsafe behaviors while incentivizing safe work practices.</li>\n <li>Implements and maintains EH&S compliance programs including onboarding of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), hazard communication, permit-to-work, Fire Safety and Emergency Response.</li>\n <li>Monitors and evaluates occupational safety and health conditions including physical, chemical, and/or biological hazards. </li>\n <li>Coordinates and provides specialized EH&S training classes within the company to meet regulatory requirements, to increase hazard recognition and to mitigate risks. </li>\n <li>Conducts assessments, inventories, and inspections to ensure compliance and program effectiveness including participation in peer audits at other Alcami facilities.</li>\n <li>Ensures medical, hazmat and safety processes and supplies are maintained and serve as part of the hazmat and medical response teams.</li>\n <li>Serves as liaison with Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies.</li>\n <li>Conducts and/or reviews incident investigations and the development of appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).</li>\n <li>Develops job hazard assessment for high-risk activities.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, safety, engineering, or scientific field required.</li>\n <li>4-9 years of EH&S experience in a laboratory warehouse, packaging or manufacturing setting required.</li>\n <li>Prior pharmaceutical and/or cGMP operational and warehouse safety experience required.</li>\n <li>Prior experience with EPA, OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations is preferred.</li>\n <li>Proven experience in managing issues in larger organizations.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Expert knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local environmental and safety regulations along with the ability to quickly interpret complex issues and provide recommended course of action. </li>\n <li>Excellent problem solving and ability to conduct investigations using root-cause analysis ensuring appropriate corrective and preventative measures required.</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and interact with employees at all levels.</li>\n <li>Excellent organizational, presentation and written and verbal communication skills required.</li>\n <li>Prior experience developing and facilitating training programs.</li>\n <li>Technological proficiency required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Travel Expectations</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Up to 20% travel expected.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Physical Demands and Work Environment</h2>\n<p>The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
