    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SWLA CENTER FOR HEALTH SERVICES</span><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">JOB DESCRIPTION</span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">JOB TITLE:</span> Environmental Specialist <br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">DEPARTMENT:</span> Operations<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SUPERVISED BY:</span> Site Manager</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Employment Type:</span> Full Time</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SUMMARY:</span><br>The environmental specialist is an entry level position responsible for performing cleaning duties <br>to maintain facility cleanliness according to safety and infection control standards and processes <br>to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:</span><br>1. High school diploma or GED preferred.<br>2. Ability to communicate well with management and other clinic staff.<br>3. Willingness to uphold company standards for safety and efficiency.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</span><br>1. Ensure and maintain adequate supplies and equipment to carry out the duties necessary to <br>keep the center clean and acceptable.<br>2. Responsible for cleanliness of the center during working hours.<br>3. Cleans and decontaminates examination rooms when necessary, following infection <br>control policies and procedures.<br>4. Cleans bathrooms, hallways, and any other areas by sweeping, mopping, as needed. <br>Makes rounds to ensure cleanliness of the areas during the day at least every 2 to 3 hours.<br>5. Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for <br>various cleaning task. <br>6. Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning all areas as needed for spills.<br>7. Empties and decontaminates trash containers at the beginning of evening clinic and as <br>needed.<br>8. Maintains all lobby areas for cleanliness throughout the day.<br>9. Puts out wet signs and umbrella bags when weather indicated.<br>10. Disposes of potentially infectious waste according to biohazard standards when needed.<br>11. Maintains regular inventory of supplies and provides request for orders to supervisor.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Environmental Specialist</span><br>12. Maintains offices during the day that require cleaning not supplied by night janitorial <br>staff.<br>13. Adheres to all environmental services policies and procedures.<br>14. Maintains a good channel of communication with all departments by periodically <br>checking to ensure that there are no environmental services issues in their areas.<br>15. Assumes additional duties when necessary to ensure quality environmental services are <br>being rendered at the site.<br>16. Will be required to travel off site to school-based clinic for cleaning, when necessary.<br>17. Perform other duties as requested.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">MISSION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE:</span><br>1. Keep the customer <br>informed about their care and treatment in a comfortable atmosphere.<br>4. Respect the gifts and talents (the diversity that co-workers bring to their jobs) of each <br>other. Demonstrates effective communication and assists co-workers as necessary. <br>5. Respect the privacy and confidentiality of the customers we serve, our physicians, coworkers and the community. <br>6. Practices safe work habits and maintain a safe environment for self, co-workers, <br>patients, and visitors.<br>7. Work collaboratively to solve problems, improve processes, and develop services. Acts <br>as an advocate for our customers. <br>8. Complies with organization/department policies and procedures, including but not <br>limited to confidentiality, safety, cooperation/flexibility and attendance. <br>9.
