As a leader in pediatric therapy, we provide a purpose-driven environment where your skills and compassion truly make a difference.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Implements the assigned program of study.</li>\n   <li>Develops and implements Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).</li>\n   <li>Monitors student progress toward achieving instructional objectives and goals outlined in the IEPs.</li>\n   <li>Maintains and upgrades professional skills.</li>\n   <li>Teaches rules of conduct.</li>\n   <li>Maintains order in the classroom and on the playground when applicable.</li>\n   <li>Counsels pupils when adjustment and academic problems arise.</li>\n   <li>Discusses pupils’ academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents. Keeps attendance and grade records as required by the school.</li>\n   <li>Coordinates class field tips when applicable. Works cooperatively with the total staff.</li>\n   <li>Assumes responsibility for the care of materials, equipment, and facilities.</li>\n   <li>Assumes responsibility for maintaining a neat, safe environment and promotes positive interaction among students.</li>\n   <li>Encourages self-direction and self-motivation and demonstrates knowledge of the subject(s) being taught.</li>\n   <li>Utilizes a variety of appropriate materials and resources.</li>\n   <li>Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Principal and the Special Education Director.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must possess a <strong>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree</strong> in education or a related field. </li>\n <li>Must possess <strong>Virginia State Teaching License</strong> with appropriate <strong>endorsement to teach special education.</strong></li>\n <li>Must possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.</li>\n <li>Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Clearance</u></strong></p>\n<p>Criminal Justice Background check, Fingerprinting, TB Assessment</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Working Conditions & Physical Requirements</u></strong></p>\n<p>Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in regular classrooms, outdoors, and on thephonee; physical agility to lift to 25 pounds; and to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>HealthPRO Heritage and its subsidiaries provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
