Curiosity is our code, and the opportunities here are endless.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What you’ll do</strong> </p>\n<p>We are looking to hire a Senior Associate Software Developer to join our team that supports and develops SAS languages and procedures that provide computational services as part of the server tier of the SAS architecture.  You will be working on a core code base primarily written in C that enables customers to access, explore, prepare, analyze, and share data.  This role provides opportunities to grow technical depth and system knowledge through mentorship, code reviews, and collaboration with experienced engineers. With customers across the globe, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a diverse set of people who share your passion for developing and delivering enterprise-class software. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>As a Senior Associate Software Developer, we are looking for someone who:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Contributes to the design and development of high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.</p></li>\n <li><p>Collaborates with project stakeholders (e.g. managers, developers, user interface and visual designers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.</p></li>\n <li><p>Participates in project planning discussions; tracks progress of individual tasks and alerts stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of tasks.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ensures quality through functional, unit and performance testing; works closely with testing by providing thorough reviews of the test plan and communicates when updates to the plan should be made to cover code changes related to enhancements, redesigns and/or bug fixes.</p></li>\n <li><p>Contributes to the full life cycle of the code including development, testing, and support with guidance from senior team members.</p></li>\n <li><p>In collaboration with technical writers, authors appropriate level of design and technical documentation that satisfies both internal and external consumers.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ensures all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.</p></li>\n <li><p>Embraces curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related quantitative field</p></li>\n <li><p>2-4 years of professional experience as a developer on medium to large codebases</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience developing software using C/C++</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience with integration, regression, and unit testing</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience using Agile development practices</p></li>\n <li><p>Familiarity with various cloud environments and concepts</p></li>\n <li><p>Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Experience with CI/CD pipeline and associated tools like Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, GitHub, etc.</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience programming in any of the following languages: Golang, Java, R, Python, Shell Scripts</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience with SAS programming. </p></li>\n <li><p>Experience with Linux. </p></li>\n <li><p>Working knowledge of Kubernetes and container-based application development. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>You are welcome here.</strong></p>\n<p>At SAS, it’s not about fitting into our culture – it’s about adding to it.
