    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>POSITION PURPOSE</strong></p>\n<p>The GM Manager (General Merchandise Manager) is responsible for leading all General Merchandise departments to achieve sales, inventory, merchandising, and customer service goals. This role ensures strong operational execution, inventory accuracy, visual standards, and associate development while supporting overall store performance and compliance with company policies.</p>\n<p><strong>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES</strong> <strong>Department Leadership &amp; Associate Development</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead, train, coach, and develop GM associates to meet performance, productivity, and service standards.</li>\n <li>Schedule labor effectively to support merchandising execution and peak business needs while controlling labor costs.</li>\n <li>Hold associates accountable for attendance, safety, productivity, and policy compliance.</li>\n <li>Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management for GM team members.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Operational Execution &amp; Merchandising</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversee daily GM operations including ordering, receiving, stocking, zoning, and backroom organization.</li>\n <li>Ensure accurate execution of planograms, promotions, pricing, signage, and seasonal transitions.</li>\n <li>Maintain clean, organized, and well‑merchandised sales floor conditions.</li>\n <li>Ensure timely execution of resets, displays, and promotional programs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Inventory &amp; Financial Performance</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage inventory levels to support sales while minimizing shrink, damages, and markdowns.</li>\n <li>Monitor department sales, margin, shrink, and key performance indicators; implement action plans to improve results.</li>\n <li>Control supplies, expenses, and operational costs to meet financial goals.</li>\n <li>Identify opportunities to drive incremental sales and improve profit performance.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Customer Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure departments are customer‑ready, in stock, and visually appealing.</li>\n <li>Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to ensure resolution and satisfaction.</li>\n <li>Model excellent customer service and reinforce service expectations with associates.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compliance &amp; Collaboration</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.</li>\n <li>Partner with Asset Protection to reduce shrink and protect assets.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with Store Leadership and other department managers to support storewide initiatives and goals.</li>\n</ul>",
