This role focuses on producing accurate, manufacturable designs, supporting production, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.</p><p></p><p>The position works closely with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Sales to ensure designs meet performance requirements, company standards, and customer specifications.</p><p></p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><p>The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:</p><ul><li>Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings for mechanical systems and equipment using Creo (or similar CAD software).</li><li>Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in accordance with company procedures.</li><li>Translate customer requirements and internal specifications into practical, manufacturable design solutions.</li><li>Apply company design standards (material selection, bend radii, tolerances, weldments, etc.) to all work.</li><li>Perform basic engineering calculations (load, stress, fit, and function) to support design decisions.</li><li>Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure design feasibility and efficient production.</li><li>Support troubleshooting and resolution of design-related issues during fabrication, assembly, and field installation.</li><li>Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to product design, cost reduction, and manufacturability.</li><li>Provide technical support to internal departments including Sales, Service, Quality, and Purchasing.</li><li>Participate in design reviews and contribute to product development projects.</li><li>Maintain accurate engineering documentation and ensure data integrity within engineering systems.</li><li>Additional duties as assigned.</li></ul><p></p><br>Requirements<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>Minimum Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.</li><li>3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in industrial equipment or manufacturing environments.</li><li>Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).</li><li>Experience creating detailed drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.</li><li>Working knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, fabrication).</li><li>Basic understanding of mechanical systems, structural components, and material properties.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.</li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills.</li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li>Experience designing heavy equipment, batch plants, mixers, or similar large-scale machinery.</li><li>Familiarity with gearboxes, drives, conveyors, or rotating equipment.</li><li>Experience with sheet metal, weldments, and structural steel design.</li><li>Exposure to ERP or PLM systems (e.g., Visibility or similar).</li><li>Knowledge of industry standards (ASME, AWS, or similar).</li><li>Experience supporting production or field service teams.</li><li>Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing exposure.</li></ul><p><strong>Why You’ll Love Working At Mixer Systems: </strong>At Mixer Systems, you’ll join a collaborative and down-to-earth team that treats each other like family.
