The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play in a role in various commercial space endeavors with our partners that include Intuitive Machines, Axiom Space, Lockheed Martin, and others.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The <strong>Network Operations Engineer</strong> will:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform real‑time network configuration updates to support mission timelines, customer objectives, and spacecraft positioning.</li>\n <li>Monitor live network performance and rapidly address anomalies to reduce operational impacts.</li>\n <li>Develop advanced proficiency in Delay Tolerant Networking (DTN) for communications across lunar and cislunar environments.</li>\n <li>Handle urgent customer‑driven requests during critical mission windows.</li>\n <li>Track network trends, recurring issues, and system behavior to recommend reliability improvements.</li>\n <li>Deliver clear status updates and operational assessments to internal teams and customers.</li>\n <li>Participate in simulations, training runs, and mission rehearsals to maintain operational readiness.</li>\n <li>Support development projects that enhance automation, tools, and operational workflows.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Education/Experience/Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent from an accredited engineering school and three (3) years of related network design or operations experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>-OR-</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent from an accredited engineering school and five (5) years of related network design or operations experience</li>\n <li>Strong grounding in IP networking concepts, including routing, switching, and network analysis/modeling tools.</li>\n <li>Ability to work shifts and provide after‑hours operational coverage when needed.</li>\n <li>High degree of operational discipline, precision, and attention to detail.</li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Prefe</strong><strong>rred Education/Experience/Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience supporting mission‑critical, customer‑facing, or high‑availability network systems.</li>\n <li>Background in satellite communications, space relay networks, or ground station operations.</li>\n <li>Experience operating within real‑time command centers or console‑based environments.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with scripting, automation tooling, or configuration management systems.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.</li>\n <li>Post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol as outlined in our Drug Free Workplace policy.</li>\n <li>Work may involve sitting for extended periods.</li>\n <li>May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.</li>\n <li>Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.</li>\n <li>Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.</li>\n <li>Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)</li>\n <li>Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.</li>\n <li>Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.</li>\n <li>Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.</li>\n <li>Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.</li>\n <li>This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><em>Don’t miss out on this great opportunity; for immediate consideration, apply now!</em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Barrios Technology is a drug-free workplace, which is imperative to the health and safety of all employees and is required as a condition of receiving contracts from federal agencies.
