The Jazz Band is an opportunity for DelVal University students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the greater Doylestown Community to perform in a large jazz ensemble, learn jazz repertoire and playing techniques.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><br><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></span></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Select appropriate repertoire for the jazz band, considering instrumentation, grade level, and relevant program theme(s)</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Create a syllabus for the course LA-1055</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Lead weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays at 5:00&ndash;5:50pm during the semester</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Present two concerts in conjunction with the Delaware Valley University Symphonic Band each semester (Fall 2026 concert dates are Friday, October 2 and Friday, December 4. Spring 2027 dates TBD)</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Assess student learning outcomes</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Submit final grades for students enrolled in the course within 72 hours of the university&rsquo;s last final exam day</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Communicate any repertoire, equipment, and ensemble needs with the Director of Music and Arts, Dr. Britney Alcine</li></ul><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><br><strong>Qualifications:</strong></span></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">A minimum of a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree, preferably in Jazz Studies or Music Education, from a regionally accredited institution</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">3&ndash;5 years of professional experience in Jazz performance, ensemble directing, music teaching or a related field relevant to the course</li><li style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Prior teaching or training experience at the university level is strongly preferred</li></ul><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><br></span></p><div><div class=\"fr-view\"><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Selected applicants will be responsible for providing the University with clearances, appropriate to the position, that have been completed within the last 5 years.
