    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Seeking an experienced Urology Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or a Physician Assistant  for a busy specialty practice. The APN will work collaboratively within our patient-centered care model to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with urological health needs. This role requires strong competencies in direct clinical practice, leadership, and collaboration. A proven background in urology is essential. Position involves both inpatient rounding and outpatient.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Performs and documents accurate, complete, and relevant history and physical assessments appropriate for the patient's age, gender, and clinical problem.</li>\n<li>Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory tests and diagnostic studies/procedures in collaboration with physicians and consultants as appropriate.</li>\n<li>Manages general medical and surgical conditions based on comprehensive knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, and the indications and contraindications of pharmacologic agents and other treatment modalities.</li>\n<li>Prescribes medication safely and effectively in accordance with best practices, hospital policy, and NJ regulations, providing patient education as needed.</li>\n<li>Seeks opportunities to promote Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) APN practice recognition (locally, nationally, and internationally) through conferences, publications, and presentations.</li>\n<li>Provides care that is patient- and family-centered, compassionate, and effective for the promotion of health and treatment of disease.</li>\n<li>Practices as a healthcare provider according to the rules and regulations of the Medical Staff and bylaws as outlined in the delineation of privileges.</li>\n<li>Adheres to HMH nursing protocols, standards of care, and disease-specific quality indicators.</li>\n<li>Applies evidence-based and value-based medicine to systematically analyze and improve patient care practices and outcomes.</li>\n<li>Evaluates patient/family transition of care planning, considering resource utilization, cost, quality, safety and self-management promotion for chronic conditions.</li>\n<li>Demonstrates clinical expertise through advanced assessment and procedural skills pertinent to the practice specialty.</li>\n<li>Completes medication reconciliations as appropriate.</li>\n<li>Participate in annual APN peer review.</li>\n<li>Translates `best practice' into clinical practice by evaluating current protocols and standards of care.</li>\n<li>Provides culturally sensitive and educationally appropriate health management education to patients and families.</li>\n<li>Facilitates consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team through participation in daily interdisciplinary rounds.</li>\n<li>Serves as an advocate for patients and families, identifying and addressing obstacles to care progression and escalating issues as appropriate.</li>\n<li>Serves as a clinical resource for the multidisciplinary team by addressing clinical, process, and system improvement opportunities.</li>\n<li>Participates in organizational and departmental meetings, committees, and workgroups as necessary.</li>\n<li>Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice and adheres to ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, informed consent, and adverse outcomes.</li>\n<li>Collaborates with medical staff to support nursing-led protocols.</li>\n<li>Mentors other APNs, precepts students in APN programs and participates in educational programs for nursing as a clinical expert.</li>\n<li>Identifies patient/family educational needs and collaborates to implement appropriate teaching materials.</li>\n<li>Facilitates and participates in nursing educational programs as a clinical expert.</li>\n<li>Promotes a collaborative work environment supporting the organizational mission, behavior expectations, values, and pillars.</li>\n<li>Promotes innovation by integrating new clinical knowledge into practice.</li>\n<li>Participates in clinical research activities and disseminates findings through practice, education, presentations, and publications.</li>\n<li>Identifies ethical care issues and coordinates interdisciplinary meetings to resolve them.</li>\n<li>Adheres to the legal framework and scope of practice defined by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, ensuring compliance with all applicable statutes and professional standards.</li>\n<li>Comply with HMH and department-specific scope of services, policies and procedures as applicable to role.</li>\n<li>Other duties and/or projects as assigned.</li>\n<li>Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.</li>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p><strong>Education:</strong></p>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.</li>\n   <li>Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited nursing program.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><p><strong>Required Licenses & Certifications:</strong></p>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Current NJ State Professional Registered Nurse (RN) License.</li>\n   <li>Current NJ Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) License.</li>\n   <li>Board certification by AANP or ANCC.</li>\n   <li>AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><p><strong>Required Skills & Credentials:</strong></p>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Experience in a relevant patient care setting.</li>\n   <li>National Provider Identifier (NPI).</li>\n   <li>Active New Jersey prescriptive authority (CDS and DEA).</li>\n   <li>Ability to maintain a collaborative agreement with staff physicians.</li>\n   <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>\n   <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><p>          AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.</p><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p><strong>Education:</strong></p>\n    <ul>\n     <li>Successful completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.</li>\n    </ul></li>\n   <li><p><strong>Licensure & Certifications:</strong></p>\n    <ul>\n     <li>Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant License.</li>\n     <li>Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).</li>\n     <li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).</li>\n    </ul></li>\n
