Stationed at key entry points or high shortage areas, your visible presence helps deter theft and minimize risk, while also reinforcing our commitment to hospitality and customer care. You serve as both a protector and a brand ambassador - maintaining strong situational awareness, responding calmly to incidents, and working in partnership with store teams to ensure a seamless, secure, and service-driven shopping experience.</span></p>\n<p><span>This entry level role goes beyond traditional security - it's about presence with purpose. All schedules contain weekend shifts as part of the requirements. Hours are dependent on business needs and colleague availability. Information regarding hours per week needed for benefit eligibility purposes can be found&nbsp;</i></span><a href=\"https://employeeconnection.net/CareerSiteMedia/2024_2025_Hourly_BAAG_Macys_Bloomingdales.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span><i>here</i></span></a><span><i>.</i></span></p>\n<p><span><strong><u>Who You Are and What You Will Do</u></strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.</span></li>\n <li><span>Must be able to:</span>\n  <ul>\n   <li><span>Understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors</span></li>\n   <li><span>Read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English.</span></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><span>Serve as a visible and reassuring presence at high-traffic entrances and high-shortage areas to help deter theft and identify suspicious behavior.</span></li>\n <li><span>Assist in the apprehension of shoplifters under the direction of Asset Protection Leaders, Captains, or Detectives.</span></li>\n <li><span>Accurately document incidents, including theft, accidents, and audit findings, through detailed and timely reporting.</span></li>\n <li><span>Conduct operational audits and complete assigned Asset Protection tasks as directed.</span></li>\n <li><span>Partner closely with store teams to promote a safe environment and support a culture of excellent customer service.</span></li>\n <li><span>Ensure full compliance with company policies and legal standards regarding apprehensions, searches, and the handling of evidence.</span></li>\n <li><span>Provide testimony in both criminal and civil legal proceedings as needed.</span></li>\n <li><span>Respond to medical situations and facilitate basic first aid for customers and colleagues.</span></li>\n <li><span>Handle proprietary, sensitive, and confidential information with the highest level of discretion and integrity.</span></li>\n <li><span>Comfortable with technology and two-way communication devices.</span></li>\n <li><span>Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels and across departments.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong><u>Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform</u></strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>This position requires talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.</span></li>\n <li><span>Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders, reaching, including above eye level.</span></li>\n <li><span>Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.</span></li>\n <li><span>Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong><u>What We Can Offer You</u></strong></span></p>\n<p><span>Join a team where work is as rewarding as it is fun!
