Our programs are offered on site at schools located in Magna. Our goals are to keep youth safe, provide healthy adult role models, teach new skills, and give youth confidence in themselves through a variety of activities including academic support, dance, arts, sports, service projects throughout the community, and off-site field trips. These goals are achieved by working closely with school administration and ensuring our staff are active participants in helping to make positive changes within the communities served.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What You'll Do Here</strong></p>\n<p>As an Afterschool Program Youth Leader your team will work directly with youth from diverse backgrounds in a school setting to provide a safe and healthy environment by:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Being a leader and mentor to the youth while using Positive Behavior Support techniques while guiding groups of up to 15 youth.</li>\n <li>Planning and implementing daily activities for program participants based on school day support and enrichment focus areas including STEM, Arts and Culture, Character Education, Healthy Living, and College and Career Exploration.</li>\n <li>Creating lesson plans and activities resulting in enriching the lives of youth and helping them to become successful in academics and daily life activities.</li>\n <li>Complete 25 hours of provided training per school year that will assist you in meeting program and personal career goals.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What We Need from You</strong></p>\n<p>We don't need a lot, but what we do need it vital:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be at least 18 years of age.</li>\n <li>Desire to work with youth in structured setting.</li>\n <li>Must be reliable and punctual! Our youth depend on you to be there for them as a mentor and to be able to attend program.</li>\n <li>Must enjoy working with youth of all ages and motivated to guide and encourage their growth both academically and interpersonally.</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with a diverse population from different social and ethnic backgrounds.</li>\n <li>Driven to not only set and achieve goals but also to see opportunities where changes are necessary and take the initiative to work with your team to implement improvements.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Opportunity to develop skills in</strong> leadership, youth mentorship, lesson planning, facilitation of activities while providing safe and healthy environments.<strong> You will</strong> gain invaluable work experience and skills in youth development, conflict resolution, engaging appropriately with youth, youth services programs and local resources, and programming and quality assurance. These invaluable and interchangeable skills will provide you the essential qualifications necessary to advance in the professional Afterschool field or easily transferable to other professions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Start Pay:</strong> <strong>$15.45-$18.00/hr.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Tier 1 = No experience <strong>($15.45/hr.)</strong></p>\n<p>Tier 2 = After 30 days and/or upon completion of required onboarding trainings OR 1+ year related experience at time of hire <strong>($16.00/hr.)</strong></p>\n<p>Tier 3 = 1+ years of related experience plus completion of all required ASP trainings and 3 or above on Temp PDP <strong>($17.00/hr.)</strong></p>\n<p>Tier 4 = 2+ years of related experience plus completion of all required ASP trainings and 3 or above on Temp PDP <strong>($18.00/hr.)</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Schedule:</strong> Varies based on location following a school year calendar.</p>\n<p>School year are afternoons Monday- Friday for 3+ hours, plus planning and prep time for about 15-20 hours a week.
