Our approach is  comprehensive, involving  mind, body,  and  community . We believe that every individual is unique, valuable, and deserving of care, and we are committed to treating everyone with dignity, respect, and inclusion. Rooted in intersectional, anti-oppressive, and decolonized approaches, our work is grounded in integrity as we build strong, collaborative relationships and strive to grow and improve together. We are seeking a hands-on, strategic financial leader to serve as our Director of Finance, overseeing all financial functions. About the Role As the Director of Finance, your key responsibilities will be to: Lead the annual budgeting process and develop multi-year financial plans that align resources with strategic goals, ensuring long-term sustainability. Oversee all financial operations (AR/AP, payroll, expense management, month-end close) and produce accurate monthly financial statements, including program vs. admin reporting and variance analysis. Present quarterly financial reports to the Board and Finance & Audit Committee, translating results into actionable insights on trends, risks, and opportunities. Develop and test rigorous internal controls and financial policies; manage compliance with CRA regulations, donor restrictions, and grant agreements; and lead the annual audit process. Manage treasury functions, cash flow, and banking relationships while overseeing administrative operations, including procurement, vendor contracts, insurance, and organizational assets. Supervise and mentor direct reports, and partner closely with the Director of Fund Development to support grant applications, track restricted funding, and ensure accurate funder reporting. Your Competencies Safeguards organizational assets  and integrity by designing, implementing, and continuously improving a robust internal control framework, ensuring segregation of duties, maintaining an up-to-date risk register, and enforcing strict dual-authorization protocols for all financial transactions. Drives strategic decision-making  by analyzing and translating complex financial data, program economics, and multi-year funding scenarios into actionable insights, business cases, and recommendations for the Senior Director, Leadership Team, and Board. Ensures full regulatory and contractual compliance  by overseeing the preparation of all CRA filings (T3010) and regulatory reports, leading the annual audit engagement, and meticulously tracking restricted funds to honor donor intent and grant agreements. Optimizes financial performance and organizational sustainability  by developing multi-year financial plans, building dynamic financial dashboards and KPIs, and modeling program expansion to evaluate cost recovery and long-term viability. Empowers a high-performing finance and administration  function by supervising, mentoring, and cross-training the Finance and Administration Manager, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and financial stewardship across the organization. Ensures operational efficiency and compliance  by overseeing procurement processes, vendor contract management, office resources, and organizational insurance policies while maintaining appropriate health and safety standards. Required Credentials Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MAcc) is an asset. Professional accounting designation (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is required. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive financial management experience, including direct responsibility for managing a budget of $6M or larger, preferably within the Not-For-Profit sector. Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (including classes and items) and cloud-based financial systems; knowledge of QuickBooks add-on products is a strong asset. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, complex formulas). Why Work with Us?
