    "descriptionText": "Description\n\n CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi disciplinary engineering firm is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors for projects around the Greater Scranton/Wilkes Barre PennDOT District 4 area. \n\n Relocation or sponsorship is not available. Local candidates highly desirable. \n\nThe Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. The TCI prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules; checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations; keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used; prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment. \n\n ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: \n\n Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor.\n Ensure compliance with the contractor’s health and safety plan.\n Check that delivered materials conform to the contract documents.\n Check contractor’s layout and verify accuracy.\n Prepare and submit daily reports of work performed in accordance with CDR Maguire’s and Owner’s requirements.\n Effective oral and written communication.\n Follow and convey instructions.\n Utilize computers and common office equipment.\n Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand.\n Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.\n Wear required personal protective gear/equipment.\n React to hazardous warnings and signals.\n Infrequently perform manual labor.\n Infrequently work in adverse weather conditions.\n Limited exposure to chemicals.\n\n OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES: \n\n Travel as required around the Greater Scranton area as it relates to above duties or as directed by supervisor.\n Provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company.\n Other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position.\n\n Requirements\n\nHigh school diploma, GED, or post secondary education and can read, write, and communicate in English and do basic math computations for length, area, and volume .\n\n The following certifications are preferred: \n\nBS Civil Engineering\n\nNICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction\n\nNECEPT Bituminous field certification\n\nACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification\n\nPennDOT/PTC CDS certification\n\nECMS experience\n\nOSHA 10 Hour certification\n\n \n\n CDR Maguire is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V and EO/AAN/D.
