It offers a full spectrum of water, waste, and energy management services, including water and wastewater treatment, commercial and hazardous waste collection and disposal, energy consulting and resource recovery. Veolia helps commercial, industrial, healthcare, higher education and municipality customers throughout North America. Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America.
Position Purpose:
As an Engineering Associate, you will manage projects from concept to completion — spanning water and wastewater transmission, distribution, and treatment systems. You'll be the primary engineering point of contact for new development activities, lead service replacement initiatives, and play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence across Veolia's Mid-State and Highlands operations.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Prepare bid documents and coordinate procurement with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) department. Develop project budgets, track expenditures, and forecast costs to ensure alignment with financial goals. Prepare refund calculations for developer-funded water main extensions. Review and approve fire suppression calculation reports for new or enlarged fire services. Support emergency response efforts, including large main breaks and other field incidents. Lead Service Replacement (LSR) : Support planning, documentation, and tracking of LSR projects. Coordinate with internal teams to maintain accurate records and project status updates. Assist with compliance documentation and regulatory reporting. GIS & Document Management : Utilize GIS systems (ESRI) to verify infrastructure data and maintain accurate mapping records. Manage engineering documentation using established tracking systems, ensuring consistency and accessibility. Align engineering records with GIS mapping data. Hydraulic Modeling : Support hydraulic modeling efforts for system capacity analysis and new development review. Evaluate system impacts related to new service connections or infrastructure changes. Prepare technical documentation to support engineering reviews. New Business Coordination : Coordinate new development applications through internal engineering review processes. Conduct pre-application reviews to assess system capacity and compliance. Prepare Will Serve Letters and service application materials. Permitting & Field Work : Prepare and process Government Road Opening Permit applications. Coordinate and document hydrant flow tests, including data collection and reporting. Support compliance with municipal and regulatory requirements. Data & Financial Tracking : Maintain accurate project and service data in Kloudgin and other tracking platforms. Assist with financial reporting and reconciliation activities.
