The tech will focus on collision repair of the damaged bodies and body parts of automotive vehicles such as automobiles, buses, and light and heavy trucks. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver with strong customer service and interpersonal skills. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why work for H&K Group, Inc.? </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li>\n <li>100% Company-paid Health Benefits</li>\n <li>401(k) Savings and Investment Plan</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs</li>\n <li>Additional training programs including on the job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and more</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies</li>\n <li>Examines damaged vehicles and estimates cost of repairs.</li>\n <li>Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window and seat operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fenders.</li>\n <li>Positions dolly block against surface of dented area and beats opposite surface to remove dents.</li>\n <li>Fills depressions with body filler.</li>\n <li>Removes damaged fenders, panels, and grills, and bolts or welds replacement parts in position.</li>\n <li>Straightens bent automobile frames with pneumatic frame straightening machine.</li>\n <li>Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces.</li>\n <li>Refinishes repaired surface.</li>\n <li>Aims headlights, aligns wheels, and bleeds hydraulic brake system.</li>\n <li>Paints surfaces after performing body repairs.</li>\n <li>Repairs or replaces defective mechanical parts.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>One-year certificate from a college or technical school or three months of related experience and/or training\n  <ul>\n   <li>Equivalent combinations of experience and/or training may be considered</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>General Computer skills including internet usage, knowledge of database software, manufacturing software, and order processing systems OSHA or other relevant safety certifications</li>\n <li>Six months of related experience and/or training</li>\n <li>Experience with collision repair, sanding, painting, and/or detailing</li>\n <li>OSHA or other relevant safety training</li>\n <li>Experience in heavy civil construction, road construction, or other heavy industry</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl</li>\n <li>Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, or balance</li>\n <li>Regularly required to talk and hear</li>\n <li>Occasionally required to sit</li>\n <li>Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds</li>\n <li>Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Frequently exposed to:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Moving parts</li>\n   <li>Fumes or airborne particles</li>\n   <li>Toxic or caustic chemicals</li>\n   <li>Wet and/or humid conditions</li>\n   <li>Outside weather conditions, extreme cold and heat</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>High, precarious places</li>\n <li>Noise level is usually loud </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Austin Autobody & Graphics</strong> was initially established in 1993 as an internal H&K Group support service dedicated to maintaining H&K’s trademark “green wave” of on road tri-axle trucks and fleet vehicles.
