About Company: Seven Stars Bakery, a Rhode Island family owned and operated business, was born out of a true passion for artisan bread and pastry baking and a strong desire to foster meaningful community. Lynn and Jim Williams, the founders, wanted to bake great stuff the old fashioned way, using the highest quality ingredients and craftsmanship, and then welcome customers like guests in their home – and we continue to do just that! They opened our first café in 2001 in a converted gas station on Hope Street on the East Side of Providence. Before long, their vision became a reality and Seven Stars Bakery was the hub of the neighborhood. We are currently an amazing, dedicated, hard working team of over 150, consisting of bakers who work through the day and night, delivery drivers who make sure the bread rack is full each morning and baristas who make the best lattes around. All of us are passionate about what we do and truly enjoy working together. Whether you are quickly grabbing a coffee on the go, chilling at a table enjoying a croissant and a book, or catching up with a friend over lunch – we want to be the best part of your day! About the Role: The AM FOOD & BAKERY PREP position is essential in ensuring that food preparation processes run smoothly and efficiently within our establishment. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to prepare high-quality meals that meet our guests' expectations. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various functional tasks, including basic food preparation and production, while adhering to safety and hygiene standards. In a fast-paced environment, multitasking abilities will be crucial to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Ultimately, the PREP role contributes significantly to the overall dining experience by ensuring that all food items are prepared timely and to the highest standards. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment. Certification in food safety or sanitation practices. Basic mathematical skills for measuring ingredients and managing inventory. Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of ingredients and food items according to established recipes and standards. Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Skills: The required skills for the PREP position are vital for daily operations in a busy kitchen. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team requires strong communication and collaboration skills to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently. Multitasking abilities are essential, as the candidate will need to manage multiple food preparation tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality. Basic mathematics skills will be utilized for measuring ingredients accurately and managing inventory levels effectively. Additionally, knowledge of basic food preparation techniques will be applied daily to ensure that all meals are prepared to the highest standards. Early Morning Shift Start times: 4am - 6am Shifts length: 4 - 8 hours Availability must include weekends and holidays Flexibility and Reliability are required Part-Time - up to 30 hours and Full-Time - up to 40 hours
