Description

SUMMARY Prepares Patients for imaging in both the X-Ray and mammography department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs radiographic proceduresas prescribed bya physician. Operates DR equipment. Determinesproper technique through theselectionof voltage, current, and exposure time. Positions patients for the proper view of the affected area. Instructs patients asto the proper physiological requirements for the procedure. Acquirespatient medical history. Complies withinfection control procedures. Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient. Communicate compassionately and accurately to the patient to explain what they are about to experience. Effective use of system applications to perform patient workflow. Housekeeping items including but not limited to laundry, stocking of supplies, etc. Attendance at meetings and training sessions may berequired. These sessions could occasionally be scheduled outside of your regular working hours to accommodate business needs and training opportunities. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must hold a current ARRT certificate and be willing to obtain Mammography certification within 1 year. (Open to on-the-job training for registered RTs). Must continue to obtain the recommended amount of Continuing Educations Credits each year for your certifications. Continuing education in accordance of the ARRT, ACR, and State of Michigan. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
