Description
ICBL is Barbados’ largest general insurance provider, writing business in all areas of general insurance including, Property, Liability, Accident, Motor, Marine, Aviation and Transit Insurance. ICBL also offers insurance coverage for Group Health and Individual and Group Pensions.
We are recruiting an Insurance Specialist, who has a passion for the customer, the ability to foster relationships, has expert knowledge of current ICBL product offerings and enhances the client experience by providing exceptional customer excellence . The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Branch functions and providing operational support to the Manager.
The position is at the level of Grade 6 in the Company’s compensation structure and will report to the Senior Insurance Specialist or designate.
Main Areas of Responsibility
Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Creates customer advocates by actively listening, understanding and consistently delivering outstanding service that exceeds customer expectations.
Achieves new business and retention revenue targets through delivering excellent customer service to all customers.
Cross/up -sell to existing customers.
Maintains existing customer relationships through the processing of customer requests, resolving customer inquiries, and making sure customer information and documentation is up to date.
Completes Mid Term Adjustments (MTAs), credit agreements and certificates as required by customers.
Identifies Company services and solutions, such as digital, online access and product offerings, that support clients’ needs.
Transitions customers to online and digital processes including Electronic Funds Transfer and Online portal payments to make it easier to do business with ICBL.
Updates existing customer information in various operating systems.
Ensures compliance with all Financial Services Commission (FSC) and Regulatory requirements.
Actively engages in available training and education programs to maintain current status on policies, procedures and risk awareness.
Performs other related duties as assigned and necessary for the advancement of the Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Six (6) CXC General or ‘O’ Level certificates including Mathematics and English.
Must be computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the general insurance industry would be an asset.
Must have sound organizing and planning skills and ability to deal with customers in a professional yet pleasant manner.
Excellent customer service and communication skills that demonstrate professionalism.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work autonomously.
Problem solving and analytical skills.
Compensation
