We are committed to offering coordinated, patient-centered care that spans the continuum of health needs, ensuring access to exceptional providers close to home. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>Provides professional clinical care to patients receiving treatments and examination in an outpatient clinical setting under the supervision of the attending provider and practice office manager.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Assesses patient’s general condition and takes vital signs and weight.</li>\n <li> Assists provider with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. To include, but not limited to, phlebotomy, injections (will include proficiency in calculations), suturing, and other typical office procedures.</li>\n <li> Administers patient medications per provider order and policy including appropriate dosage, route, site, and documentation.</li>\n <li> Orients, instructs, and trains assigned personnel as applicable.</li>\n <li> Provides basic patient care as ordered. </li>\n <li> Assures test results are received and relayed to patient in a timely manner.</li>\n <li> Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy by using the AIDET fundamentals of communication.</li>\n <li> Documents all interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.</li>\n <li> Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials and communicating provider’s advice and instructions.</li>\n <li> Triages patient phone calls and urgency of appointments.</li>\n <li> Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and well maintained equipment.</li>\n <li>Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.</li>\n <li> Maintains confidentiality in matters regarding the practice, its patients, and employees.</li>\n <li> Ability to use a variety of office and medical equipment including, but not limited to, telephone, computer, fax, stethoscope, EKG machine, ear washing equipment, scales, thermometers, blood pressure cuff, and basic lab equipment.</li>\n <li> Maintains a clean and sanitary work area.</li>\n <li> Maintains equipment in clean operating condition.</li>\n <li> Performs referrals and pre-certifications as needed and where applicable.</li>\n <li> May schedule patient appointments per provider order and relay accurately to patients.</li>\n <li> Takes calls from hospitals/nursing homes and relays appropriate information to practitioner in a timely manner.</li>\n <li> Collaborates with the patient, physician, and other care team members as part of a team based approach to overall patient care.</li>\n <li> Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.</li>\n <li> Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Education:</strong>            </p>\n<p>None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Experience:</strong>          </p>\n<p>Must be sufficient to meet the standard for achievement of the below indicated licensure as required by the issuing authority.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Licensure Requirement:</strong>       </p>\n<p>Must be licensed as an LPN in the state of Tennessee. American Heart Association BLS required.</p>",
