We are seeking a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certified orthopedic surgeon to join the team of six to fill a 1.0 full-time equivalency (FTE). The successful candidate will share the on-call rotation, existing OR allocation at Aberdeen Hospital, fracture clinic and Hip & Knee clinic. The practice is general orthopedics and trauma call. An interest in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, foot and ankle and/or sports medicine interest will be considered an asset. Responsibilities work as a full scope of practice orthopedic surgeon providing care to the patients within Northern Zone participate in call shifts support Nova Scotia Health in advancing the delivery of orthopedic surgery care by liaising with the applicable staff within the zone and province be accountable to the patient population in Northern Zone by providing clinics  responsible to the Zone Surgery Department Head (or delegate) and Zone Medical Executive Director (ZMED) for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice Provide care and coordination of community-based care, and secondary and tertiary level health care.  Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority.  Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities.  Expected Hours Permanent Full-Time 1:6 on call coverage Remuneration Remuneration am ount - Approximately $525,000 per year, depends solely on your own clinical output Remuneration type - FFS  Physician Agreement | Doctors Nova Scotia Incentives Nova Scotia Health offers a variety of incentives designed to relieve some of the pressure, cost, and difficulty that comes with relocation.
