In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing risk and driving contaminated sites toward closure through the design and oversight of investigation, monitoring, and remediation programs.</span></p><p><span>You’ll lead field work related to sites impacted by hydrocarbons (including diesel, gasoline, and crude oil), fertilizers, and metals, and prepare clear, high‑quality technical reports to support regulatory and client requirements. This role is well suited to a self‑motivated professional who demonstrates strong time management, communication, and organizational skills, and who enjoys leading field‑intensive projects within a collaborative team environment.</span></p><hr><p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">&nbsp;<strong>Your Impact</strong></span></span></p><ul><li>Create a safe and positive environment for colleagues.</li><li>Lead a project team and take on responsibilities including:&nbsp;<ul><li>Preparing health and safety plans and emergency response plans.</li><li>Preparation of proposals and cost estimates.</li><li>Scheduling of field staff and subcontractors.</li><li>Report writing including preparing conclusions and recommendations.</li><li>Project accounting, tracking and reporting requirements to the terms of reference under WSP’s Master Services Agreements.</li><li>Training junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation etc.</li><li>Training staff on site specific health and safety.</li></ul></li><li>Manage client relationships.</li><li>Collaborate across the national RPM team and WSP.</li><li>Provide guidance and mentorship to environmental scientists.</li><li>Develop a personal career development plan with specific goals to achieve your career aspirations.</li></ul><hr><p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><strong>The Skills That Set You Apart</strong></span></span></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in related field (sciences and/or Engineering).</li><li>Minimum 8 years of experience in contaminated site assessments.</li><li>Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety conscious attitude.</li><li>An analytical mind; someone who is able to make recommendations on the next steps for client sites.</li><li>Strong business acumen and financial management experience, developing, tracking and forecasting on annual budgets.</li><li>Previous experience with soil and ground water sampling and remediation.</li><li>Understanding of the Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba Environmental regulations.</li><li>Professional designation is preferred.</li><li>Experience in the oil and gas sector will be an asset.</li><li>Preference will be given to those individuals with more extensive experience with respect to soil and groundwater monitoring programs, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, site remediation, and provincial regulations.</li></ul><hr><p><strong>Why Choose WSP?</strong></p><p>We exist to shape communities to advance humanity.
