The mission of NSLAC is to provide accessible, quality, equitable, free legal services in the areas of domestic violence, housing, and immigration to give low-income, at-risk community members access to justice and the opportunity to live productive and secure lives. NSLAC is an 11-year-old dynamic nonprofit with a collaborative culture and the goal of becoming the model legal aid organization focused on suburban communities.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>As our HR Manager, you will oversee the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, payroll coordination, and employee relations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on execution, and who values collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Do</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate review, and interview coordination</li>\n<li>Lead onboarding processes, ensuring a seamless new hire experience</li>\n<li>Administer payroll and benefits processes with a high level of accuracy</li>\n<li>Support performance management, including reviews and employee development</li>\n<li>Serve as a confidential resource for employee relations, coaching, and conflict resolution</li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with HR policies, employment laws, and organizational procedures</li>\n<li>Coordinate required trainings and maintain HR records and systems</li>\n<li>Oversee internship program recruitment and administration</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You Bring</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in HR, Psychology, or related field (PHR/SPHR preferred)</li>\n<li>5+ years of progressive HR experience, including operations and compliance</li>\n<li>Experience with HRIS systems (BambooHR preferred)</li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.</li>\n<li>Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities</li>\n<li>High level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Salary and Benefits</span></span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>$70,000-$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience;</li>\n<li>Hybrid work schedule;</li>\n<li>Generous vacation policy including paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays;</li>\n<li>Employer paid Health, dental, vision and life insurance; 401(k) entry available upon hire.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Why Join Us</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make a meaningful impact in a mission-driven nonprofit environment</li>\n<li>Work closely with leadership and staff across the organization</li>\n<li>Help shape and strengthen HR systems and employee experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Our offices are located conveniently to a Metra train stop.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>NSLAC is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to provide equal employment opportunities in all employment practices.
