Description
Overview
The Manager, Partnership Marketing for Major League Soccer/Soccer United Marketing is responsible for the day-to-day execution of all activities within assigned Partner Accounts. As the key account person, the Manager is responsible for delivering the highest level of client service while at the same time acting as an MLS/SUM consultant to ensure that effective programs are created and implemented across the enterprise. The assigned accounts will have a strong focus on our International Properties across the organization’s portfolio including but not limited to Leagues Cup, Mexican National Teams, and Concacaf.
Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day communication with select clients, including:
Leading weekly calls
Collaborating with internal departments on partners programs as needed
Addressing issues and providing solutions to meet partner needs
Oversight of asset delivery
Serving as an internal expert and resource on managed partners
Facilitating special requests as needed
Proactively generate new ideas for new sponsorship opportunities to grow partner business including in-game elements and retail promotions
Fiscally responsible for the day-to-day management of program budgets and ensuring that sponsor promotions are within budget
Coordinate creative approval of all partner assets, ensuring submissions are brand compliant and in-line with contractual guidelines
Provide strategic oversight of contractual assets including ticket pools, player appearances, pre-game field experiences, etc.
In conjunction with Partner Media Management team, assist with the oversight and implementation of partner specific digital, social, and content programs
Work with internal and external team members to provide issue resolution for partners
Accomplish team results by communicating job expectations and managing the Performance Management process:
Plan, monitor, and review performance;
Mentor and counsel employees;
Develop and implement department procedures and productivity standards and reinforce Company policies
Develop personal growth opportunities for employees
Manage CRM database and create/update partner profiles
Effectively present information to sponsors and internal team members and effectively answer any questions that arise
Additional Responsibilities
Represent PM on internal task forces as needed
Lead special projects as requested by the PM leadership team
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required
5+ years of experience in strategic brand and partnership marketing required
Required Skills
Proficiency communicating (verbal and written) in business level Spanish required
Experience managing large-scale partnerships and the planning and execution of activation programs
Creative strategist with the ability to provide solutions that address client needs
Strong understanding of sports and entertainment sponsorships, including promotions, events, media and contracts, with s a focus on the Hispanic fan segment
Experience managing a direct report preferred
High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
Meticulous with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Skills
Knowledge of the sport of soccer
Prior management of a direct report preferred
