It provides hands-on experience in product training, sales techniques, logistics, and corporate functions while building expertise in Metals, HVAC, Commercial Roofing, and Machinery Services. The position will collaborate across departments, support sales and operations, and contribute to business growth.</p><p><br><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong> (Other duties may be assigned)</p><ul><li>Participate in a 24-month accelerated training program that provides comprehensive exposure to various areas of the company, including Warehouse Operations, HVAC Inside Sales, Roofing Inside Sales, and Corporate Services.</li><li>Engage in product training, wholesale distribution best practices, sales training, systems resource training, sales effectiveness processes, market development, and operations/logistics.</li><li>In the first year, rotate through key departments to gain broad knowledge and experience.</li><li>After the completion of the second year, specialize in a chosen career track and receive targeted training and development.</li><li>Contribute to the team through sales, logistics, and operational support while learning the intricacies of the building materials industry.</li><li>Take part in developing market strategies and assist in the implementation of company-wide goals.</li><li>Develop strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues to ensure success and career growth within the company.</li></ul><p><strong>Operations:</strong></p><ul><li>Operate various equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) to move materials and products safely.</li><li>Perform receiving and order-picking processes, ensuring accuracy and proper storage.</li><li>Load and secure materials in trailers for safe transit.</li><li>Maintain safety standards, including attending monthly meetings and adhering to safety procedures.</li><li>Use WMS technology to track materials and maintain accurate records.</li><li>Ensure high housekeeping standards by organizing and cleaning the warehouse and inventory areas.</li></ul><p><strong>Sales:</strong></p><ul><li>Build and maintain customer rapport to ensure satisfaction and prepare accurate quotations for projects.</li><li>Follow up on bids and manage communication with contractors regarding orders and product availability.</li><li>Maintain competitive market records and support the sales team with relevant updates.</li><li>Input orders, manage backorder situations, and provide technical support.</li><li>Prospect for new accounts, maintain a consistent call schedule, and occasionally pull customer orders.</li><li>Travel for meetings, training, and customer visits as required.</li></ul><p><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><p>None required.</p><p><br><strong>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE</strong></p><p>Bachelor’s Degree (preferred majors: construction management, logistics, industrial distribution business, marketing, communications).</p><p><br><strong>CERTIFICATION, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</strong></p><p>None required.<br></p><p><strong>SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>High energy, confident, self-motivated.</li><li>Excellent communication skills.</li><li>Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.</li><li>Team player with leadership potential.</li><li>Quick learner, adaptable to new challenges.</li></ul><p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></p><p><br></p><p>The physical demands of this position will vary depending on the area of the training program.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Operations: </strong>While performing the duties of this portion of the training program, participants are regularly required to stand, walk, use their hands for handling or feeling, and reach with their arms. Frequent tasks include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and communicating. Sitting is occasionally required. Participants must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities necessary for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.</p><p><br><strong>Sales: </strong>Work in this portion of the training program involves standing and walking for brief periods, but most tasks are performed from a seated position. There is potential for eye strain from reading detailed materials and viewing a computer screen. The role requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level. Participants are frequently required to talk or listen. Occasionally, they may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.<br></p><p><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Operations: </strong>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes of airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
