Over decades, we have expanded our service offering to include economic studies, project management, detailed engineering, procurement, site management, commissioning, industrial programming, EPCM delivery, and mine closure planning. Our team works together to deliver high‑quality solutions aligned with our vision of exceeding industry standards through innovation.<br>&nbsp;</p><p>To support our continued growth, we are seeking a <strong>Mechanical Engineer</strong> to join our Mechanical Team based in <strong>Terrace, British Columbia</strong>. In this role, you will contribute to both greenfield and brownfield projects across the industrial and mining sectors, applying mechanical and piping engineering expertise from conceptual design through to completion.</p><hr><p><strong>Your Impact</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Design piping systems, mechanical equipment, and process components, including the selection of rotating and static equipment.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Provide input into 2D and 3D general arrangement drawings and layout development.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Perform engineering calculations and review/seal engineering documents.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, requisitions, and support technical bid evaluations.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Support field activities by attending client sites, conducting construction reviews, and participating in project meetings.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Build and maintain strong client relationships by responding to project needs promptly and professionally.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Follow and reinforce health and safety policies during all project phases.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure quality, cost‑effective, and timely project delivery.</li></ul><hr><p><strong>The Skills That Set You Apart</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">5+ years of experience as a Mechanical or Piping Engineer in industrial/mining design environments.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Licensed <strong>P.Eng</strong> in British Columbia.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Experience designing process piping systems and preparing equipment datasheets and specifications.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Knowledge of ASME, API, MSS, ASTM, NFPA, and CSA standards.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Experience with pipe stress analysis (e.g., CAESAR II) is an asset.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Ability to work safely on industrial sites and comply with all site‑specific safety regulations.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Strong written and verbal English communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Beneficial exposure to projects in power plants, mines, mills, industrial facilities, infrastructure, or pulp and paper.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">Team‑oriented mindset and ability to work effectively within project teams.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list 36.0pt;\">French language skills are an asset.</li></ul><hr><p><strong>Why Choose WSP?</strong><br>We exist to shape communities to advance humanity.
