How You'll Make an Impact - As a DSP, your primary role will be to provide 24/7 support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health challenges. This includes - Assisting with daily living activities- such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, medication administration, and household management. Teambuilding- by sharing the responsibility of providing care in the evenings, on weekends, and during holidays. Giving and receiving feedback and participating in staff and consumer meetings Developing and implementing individualized care plans- that support consumers’ goals towards independence and community integration. Building relationships- through consistent interaction, fostering both social skills and community connections. Participating with consumers in social activities such as art class, Special Olympics, cooking, crafts, sports, and other recreational activities Promoting empowerment- by encouraging consumers to make their own choices in a safe and supportive environment. Documenting progress- to ensure that care strategies are effective and responsive to consumer needs. Paid Training - No experience required - We provide paid training!
