JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Adjunct, Department of Occupational Therapy Department: Occupational Therapy Position Reports to (Position Title): OTD Department Chair & Program Director, and SAHS Associate Dean Position Class (Exempt): Exempt Position Type: Adjunct Job Description Jacksonville University, ranked as a Best Regional University by US News & World Report, invites applicants for an adjunct position in the department of Occupational Therapy. The Department of Occupational Therapy is housed within the School of Applied Health Sciences in the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences. The Department of Occupational Therapy is currently seeking an adjunct professor to instruct students using standardized patient case simulation to integrate learned knowledge for further developing clinical reasoning skills and evaluating treatment alternatives for persons with occupational performance limitations across the lifespan. Supervisory Responsibilities None Duties/Responsibilities Develop and teach courses in the area of case based occupational therapy, specifically the OT/OTA relationship within the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. Required Skills/Abilities Instruct, professionally communicate, and demonstrate occupational therapy processes to Doctor of Occupational Therapy students. Self-directed, have computer proficiency that includes the knowledge necessary to develop case scenarios and simulations. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of effective teaching techniques and curriculum development. Skill in facilitating development of student problem solving skills. Ability to design effective learning activities for students. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff. Education and Experience Current Florida OT license Terminal degree in occupational therapy or related field Clinical experience in occupational therapy is highly desirable Physical Requirements Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other small business machines. Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens.
