    "description": "<h2>Description</h2>\n<p>This position will offer you the ability to apply and expand your knowledge of underground transmission line engineering, including routing, duct bank configurations, manhole placement and electrical principles to:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV. </li>\n <li>Responsible for cost analyses, development of design criteria, siting and routing challenges, and placement of manholes for underground transmission lines. </li>\n <li>Responsible for physical design including duct bank layouts, development of trenchless designs, cable pulling calculations, development of drawing packages. </li>\n <li>Responsible for cable selection studies, determining bonding scheme, performing ampacity calculations.</li>\n <li>Develop riser structure configuration and structural loading.</li>\n <li>Develop specifications including cable procurement, duct bank installation, trenchless installation and general construction specifications. </li>\n <li>Work and coordinate with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components. </li>\n <li>Direct a small project team of other engineers, designers and drafters.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week</strong><strong>, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days. Dependent upon your location, this opportunity offers a generous relocation package.</strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in Canada for this position.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This position may require access to U.S. export-controlled information. Please click here to determine your eligibility.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Essential skills and experience:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>This position requires a BS degree from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board-accredited undergraduate program or a US based ABET-accredited program.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling</li>\n <li>Proficiency with cable tensioning calculations and/or software</li>\n <li>7 or more years of experience as a member of a project team in observing project schedules and budget constraints on diverse underground transmission projects</li>\n <li>Design experience incorporating code requirements, EPRI recommendations, client requirements</li>\n <li>Experience in cost estimate development and schedule creation and coordination</li>\n <li>Experience with XLPE cable design</li>\n <li>Experience in the preparation of specifications for installation and procurement of underground transmission line materials and components</li>\n <li>Knowledge to verify/review right of way requirements, bonding schemes, underground transmission line plan and profile drawings and other construction documents</li>\n <li>Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models</li>\n <li>Experience in writing and providing support documentation for engineering calculations</li>\n <li>Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, EPRI Green Book, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318</li>\n <li>Proficiency with MS Office applications</li>\n <li>Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills</li>\n <li>Attention to detail</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Valued but not required skills and experience:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Have a current P.Eng license or the ability to acquire one within one year</li>\n <li>Experience with High Pressure Gas Filled or High-Pressured Fluid Filled pipe type cable systems and associated equipment</li>\n <li>Experience with underground distribution or low voltage cable systems</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Sargent and Lundy is fully committed to abiding by all equal opportunity employment standards.
