Winter Park Resort is hiring cooks of all skill levels to join our growing culinary team. With multiple food &amp; beverage outlets across the resort, opportunities range from entry-level Cook 1 to advanced Cook 4 positions. You&#39;ll work across all stations, including grill, fryer, sauté, and expo. Banquet and pastry experience is a plus. Must be able to follow recipes, work as a team, multitask, and strive to exceed guest expectations.</p><p></p><p>Applicants will be considered for all locations and placed based on skill level.   <br />An attached pdf or word document of your resume is required.</p><p></p><p><b><u>WAGE:</u></b></p><p>The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resort’s hourly pay for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resort’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.<br /> </p><p><span>Hourly pay range: $19-$23</span></p><p></p><p><u><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</b></u></p><p>Job details vary based on skill level as outlined in specific job descriptions.</p><p>Duties include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>Prepares various foods, under supervision, for restaurant and banquets.</li><li>Assist in maintaining appropriate quality and production.</li><li>Maintain high pace while cooking/prepping for a high-volume restaurant and other functions.</li><li>Participates in cost control and ongoing sanitation practices.</li><li>Set work area according to station guide</li><li>Knife skills appropriate for cook level</li><li>Will label, date, rotate product and keep a clean station. Properly store food in correct and allotted areas.</li><li>Complete Food Handler and Allergen training.  Ensure compliance with established health and safety procedures.</li><li>Report all observations of damaged/ dangerous equipment.</li><li>Conduct and record time and temps at station. Has awareness of storage areas, labeling and dating.</li><li>Takes direction from Chefs, Sous Chefs, and outlet managers.</li><li>Organize station to create greatest efficiency and keep work area and kitchen organized and clean at all times, adhering to all state and local sanitary requirements.</li><li>Assist Sous Chef and Chef with securing/storing food deliveries with knowledge of food hierarchy placement.</li><li>Support with communication/notification regarding product outages. 86&#39;d items, product shortages, low inventory items.</li><li>Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements</li><li>Other duties as assigned<br /> </li></ul><p><u><b>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</b></u></p><ul><li>Must be minimum of 16 years of age for Cook 1</li><li>Must be minimum 18 years of age for Cook 2 - 4</li><li>Must be able to stand for long periods of time</li><li>Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.</li><li>Must read, write, and speak fluently in English</li><li>Cook 1 - Preferred experience as a basic prep cook and/or counter service worker, but not required</li><li>Cook 2 - One year of relevant professional cooking experience</li><li>Cook 3 - 2 years’ experience as a professional cook or 1 year plus an associate degree in Culinary Arts</li><li>Cook 4 - 3 years of relevant professional cooking experience or 2 years of experience and an associate degree in Culinary Arts</li><li>Ability to work at a high pace with a variety of kitchen equipment</li><li>Must be able to adhere to Winter Park Resort’s Culinary Guidelines</li><li>Expected to interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with Winter Park Resort’s Service Excellence standards</li><li>Must have current Food Handler and Allergy training certificate, or must attend Food Handler and Aller-train certification courses for Alterra Mountain company within 14 days of employment</li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</b></u></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><p></p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear, and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.</p><p></p><p><u><b>WORKING CONDITIONS:</b></u></p><p><u>Indoor/Outdoor: </u>While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to harsh and varying outside weather conditions.</p><p><u>Hazardous Materials/Noise</u>: <span>The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.</span></p><p></p><p><b><u><span>AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER:</span></u></b></p><p><span>Winter Park Resort is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is dedicated to the principles of equal employment opportunity in any term, condition, or privilege of employment.</span></p><p><br /><b><i><span>Application Deadline:</span></i></b><span> Recruiting timelines vary by position, however, all Winter Park Resort positions accept applications for a minimum of 3 business days from the posting date listed above.
