Possesses a specific area of specialty or expertise. Works both independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners to develop creative interior space solutions to meet customer needs.  Includes a high degree of customer engagement, creative decision making, non-linear decision making and autonomous project ownership. Serve as leader, mentor, and pace setter for teams and colleagues.  Will typically serve as the key or primary customer liaison and share customer management and project management responsibilities with their sales partners. Responsible for design discovery, co-creation, design validation, design documentation, and quality assurance. Involved in design projects and related tasks from inception to final installation. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong>  </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Specialization in one or more areas of expertise (software, process, vertical market, building code, customer or product knowledge, etc.). </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct product research and contact vendors for pricing and information. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Engage with customer to gather project information (surveys, interviews, data collection, observations) and to uncover customer challenges. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Engage in problem identification and solving. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead design discovery and co-creation sessions with project stakeholders. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Drive or lead creative engagements and workshops. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Specify furniture and finishes required per final layouts. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Influence, inspire, and guide solutions and deliverables from supporting team members. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Produce and present design concepts to customers. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Produce furniture block plans, space plans, finish palettes, furniture specification, and installation drawings; create, revise, and plot design drawings. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop validation packages and spreadsheets. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Estimate budgetary hours and manage and monitor project hours. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare design budgets and design proposals. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for individual tasks and duties as well as overall project results, outcomes, and influence on peer team members. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as a mentor for other designers. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate in or lead internal and external projects and process improvement initiatives. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Accountable for developing customer relationships and meeting customer expectations. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> <strong>Qualifications:</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education/Experience</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Interior or Architectural Design, Associate Art’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college will be considered, with at least 7 years related design experience. </li>\n <li>Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) or National Architecture Board (NAB) accreditation preferred.  </li>\n <li>One or more professional certifications required: NCIDQ, CID, LEED AP, WELL AP, EDAC, 6 Sigma, PMI, etc. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Customer focused; dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Stands up and serves as a champion for challenging ideas or positions.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Effectively manages ambiguity; copes with change; can act without the entire picture. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledgeable of how to get things done through both formal and informal networks within the organization. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Action oriented; full of energy for the things they see as challenging. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Uses logic, heuristics, and intuition, to solve difficult problems. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to be optimistic, collaborative, enthusiastic and think creatively. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Creatively generates new ideas; makes connections between unrelated notions. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Makes sound decisions based on knowledge, judgement, and experience. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Highly effective in formal presentation settings; one on one and in large groups. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Effective in facilitating conversations and interpersonal engagements such as workshops. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Effectively manages complex projects with many players and objectives. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Clearly and comfortably delegates both routine and important tasks to design support partners. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Uses their time effectively; values the time of others; sets important priorities. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Plans and accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; sets objectives and goals. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Prioritizes and spends time on what is important; quickly zeros-in on critical elements.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Works for continual personal and professional improvement. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be cooperative; works with and learns from others. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must believe in the ability of physical space to have a positive impact on the lives of others. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have self-awareness and ability to self-assess strengths and opportunities for growth. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must possess a growth mindset and the ability to adopt new habits and behaviors. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Advanced proficiency in a variety of software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
