    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p><strong>Job Title/Position:&nbsp;</strong>Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Reports to:&nbsp;</strong>Rehab Director</p><p><strong>P</strong><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"><strong>osition Summary:</strong> A Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides coordinated occupational therapy to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist.</span></p><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPON</u></strong><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\"><u>SIBILITIES</u></strong><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">&nbsp;</span></p><p><strong>Patient Care:</strong></p><ol><li>Performs services planned, delegated and supervised by the OT.</li><li>Your position will include: Participation in coordination of patient care.</li><li>Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills to participate in teaching the patient and family.</li><li>Completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.</li><li>Applies concepts of infection control and universal precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.</li><li>Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients.</li><li>Meets mandatory continuing education requirements; participates in in-service programs</li><li>Demonstrates commitment, professional growth, and competency.</li></ol><p><strong><br></strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><p>1. Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy assistant with an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy.</p><p>2. Current Texas State License to practice occupational therapy.</p><p>3. Two-year experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.</p><p>4. Therapy skills as set forth in the Therapy Practice Act and other regulatory agencies.</p><p>5. Proof of current CPR and Hepatitis profile</p><p>6. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>SKILLS REQUIRED</strong></p><p>1. Good interpersonal skills.</p><p>2. Organized and resourceful self-starter, strong ability to work in a team.</p><p>3. Excellent observation, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.</p><p>4. Ability to do heavy lifting, bending, pulling, pushing and standing. Prolonged standing and walking required.</p><p>5. Works in a health care facility or patients&#39; residence in various conditions; possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids and infectious diseases; ability to work flexible schedule; ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather.</p><p>6. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs and to meet patient/family individualized psycho- social needs.
