As a leader in pediatric therapy, we provide a purpose-driven environment where your skills and compassion truly make a difference.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The Pediatric Occupational Therapist leads and manages the application of occupational therapy theory and practice in alignment with organizational principles and patient needs. The OT provides clinical expertise in evaluation and treatment, collaborating with and educating patients, physicians, families, and caregivers. Serving as a patient and rehabilitation advocate, the OT participates in quality improvement and ensures a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to student success.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide direct patient care, including evaluation, treatment planning, goal setting, and documentation for the birth-to-five population.</li>\n <li>Direct and supervise the work of OT assistants (COTAs), rehab techs, and students in compliance with state and federal guidelines.</li>\n <li>Conduct assessments and design measurable, evidence-based goals for fine-motor development, gross-motor coordination, visual-motor integration, and sensory processing.</li>\n <li>Independently identify clinical problems and initiate appropriate actions to ensure patient progress.</li>\n <li>Maintain clear, professional communication with staff, families, physicians, and case managers regarding patient rights and confidentiality.</li>\n <li>Participate in clinic operations, staff meetings, and professional development activities.</li>\n <li>Manage documentation and billing practices within the electronic practice management system.</li>\n <li>Follow all organizational safety policies and procedures regarding personal protection and patient safety.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Active and current State Occupational Therapist License.</li>\n <li>Prefer a minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in a pediatric outpatient or school-based setting.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in clinical skills related to sensory processing and motor skill development.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of reimbursement and payor source issues (Medicare, Managed Care, etc.).</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Physical Requirements</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manual dexterity to mobilize joints and perform therapeutic techniques daily.</li>\n <li>Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and transfer patients to various surfaces.</li>\n <li>Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach during treatment sessions.</li>\n <li>Ability to sit regularly at a charting desk or computer terminal to complete documentation.</li>\n <li>Ability to perform CPR if necessary.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Work Environment</p>\n<ul>\n <li>School-Based (On-Site)</li>\n <li>Location(s): Oak Hall, VA</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>HealthPRO Heritage and its subsidiaries provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
