Description

Overview LMI is seeking a skilled Business Operations Lead to support a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) customer . Successful LMI Business Operations Lead serves as the primary integrator for business operations across the Integrated Surveillance Towers (IST) portfolio. The position is responsible for synchronizing planning, programming, budgeting, and acquisition support to enable successful pre deployment, deployment, recapitalization, and sustainment of autonomous surveillance towers. This telework position will require at least one day per month on client site in Washington, DC. LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed. Responsibilities Ensures that IST business processes, reporting, and stakeholder engagement are aligned with PMOD, USBP, CBP, and DHS priorities and that cost, schedule, and performance data are accurate, timely, and actionable for leadership decision making. Provide analysis and data to ensure that program budgets align with strategic and programmatic goals and adhere to fiscal guidance and DHS and CBP budget policy Maintain and refine business processes to synchronize autonomous tower deployments and sustainment Applies working knowledge of data collection and analysis methods to prepare detailed reports regarding the deployment and sustainment of autonomous surveillance towers Writing and presentation of results and analysis to CBP client management Support development of client business reports Regular coordination with government Branch Chiefs and Project Leads Strong quantitative analysis skills and attention to detail, with ability to analyze and forecast trends Execute overall acquisition lifecycle support on behalf of the Business Operations Branch, synchronize the deployment and sustainment of autonomous surveillance towers Monitor team business performance to ensure that all project actions are implemented, supported, and closed accurately and in accordance with key milestones and established project standards are upheld and clearly defined throughout the entire process of each project’s development and execution Coordinate the development, review, and approval of all required procurement and business documents for the program Develop client and vendor presentations to exhibit overall understanding of deliverables and expectations and support to the portfolio Foster positive working relationships with team, client personnel and leadership counterparts Prioritize tasks, set deadlines, and assign resources to each deliverable Track cost, schedule, and performance, as well as prepare documents and develop project and program specific policy, procedures, and report status to all levels Manage task assignments and oversight of personnel to ensure excellence in services delivered Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports and ensure such deliverables are submitted in a timely fashion and of high quality/accuracy Conduct project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis Qualifications Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination. Previous work formulating or executing federal government budgets is a plus Demonstrate understanding of Acquisition Program Management (MD-102 is a plus) Demonstrate understanding of budget and contract management Previous work with CBP’s Integrated Surveillance Tower (IST), Mobile Systems, Subterranean, Communications Command & Control (C3) portfolios is a plus. ~10-12 years relevant work experience and a Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience working with project management software and tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders. Ability to demonstrate initiative, effectively solve problems, and adapt to changing requirements. Ability to manage quick-turnaround tasks and be very detailed-oriented. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
