Join CASA Mental Health in shaping a brighter future for children, youth and families by providing them with timely mental health care and empowering them to thrive. Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Mental Health Therapist collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical services, including treatment planning, interventions, and discharge transitions for children, youth, and families. Adhering to ethical and practice standards, the therapist applies evidence-informed practices and fosters relationships with community partners to ensure effective care. Job Details Wage range: $44.03 to $56.50 Shift Structure: Monday–Friday, 7.25 hours per day Primary location: Edmonton, CASA Centre Union: In-Scope FTE: 0.80 Status: Temporary The Mental Health Therapist will:  Conduct mental health assessments, develop treatment plans, provide therapy, and coordinate care for children and youth. Collaborate with teams, advocate for families, and ensure continuity of care through referrals and discharge summaries, following agency policies. Support staff development by sharing discipline-specific knowledge, providing preceptorship to students and interns, and educating on relevant clinical practices. Engage in continuous learning to stay current in the field. Promote patient safety by encouraging open reporting of concerns, ensuring all staff, physicians, and volunteers understand their responsibilities, and fostering effective communication to create a safe, respectful workplace culture. Contribute to program planning, actively participate in team meetings, and take on additional tasks as needed. Contribute to developing performance indicators and continuous quality improvement efforts, and ensure the collection of evaluation and quality data. Qualifications and Experience: Master’s degree in psychology, social work (with psycho-social intervention designation), occupational therapy or nursing. Active registration in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act. A minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions. Knowledge of child and adolescent development and the impact of trauma and attachment on the development of children’s mental illness and on children’s health and well-being. Training and experience using modalities such as: play-based modalities (play therapy, Theraplay), CBT, DBT, EFT, or family therapy. Training and experience in play therapy is considered an asset. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Conditions of Employment A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate. Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
