We’re increasing our team to support the US Army Comprehensive Modernization (COMPMOD) program. The program delivers end-to-end EFIS&T services—including survey and design through installation, security, and testing. This work spans NIPR and SIPR networks, Wi-Fi, VoIP, ISP/OSP infrastructure, and voice modernization across all CONUS Army installations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We have openings for an Optical Network Installation Specialist that performs installation of networking equipment and components with an emphasis on optical hardware.  The technician should be able to identify and resolve problems related to such systems with some supervision during routine upgrades and installation efforts.</p>\n<p>#compmod</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Installation & Maintenance:</strong> Install, route, and secure fiber optic cabling, racks, ironwork (ladder rack, subfloor infrastructure), patch panels, and cable management hardware (i.e. Panduit raceway, Fiber Management Systems (FMS)) in accordance with TIA/EIA and DoW standards.</li>\n <li><strong>Cabling, Splicing & Termination:</strong> Perform fusion splicing, connector termination, and cable preparation for singlemode, multimode fiber systems, and copper cabling .</li>\n <li><strong>Power & Grounding:</strong> DC Power cable (determining path, wax cord lacing), HTAP, and equipment.</li>\n <li><strong>Testing & Troubleshooting:</strong> Conduct, document, and analyze results from OTDR, power meter, and continuity tests to diagnose and repair fiber issues.</li>\n <li><strong>Security & Compliance:</strong> Adhere to security level access, material handling, and protocols.</li>\n <li><strong>Documentation:</strong> Interpret SOWs, site drawings, and infrastructure diagrams to maintain accurate records of network routes.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Experience/Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>One year to three years of experience involving the construction, maintenance, or repair of various types of networking or electronics equipment or an equivalent combination of education from a related technical discipline for the required experience.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Telcordia standards, fiber optic splicing, and testing equipment.</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of communications installations.</li>\n <li>Some experience with various network devices (e.g. IP routers, optical/IP switches) and ability to install network devices per</li>\n <li>DoW and Industry Implementation Standards.</li>\n <li>Communications skills including verbal, written, and graphic and experience with customer service environments</li>\n <li>Proficiency with MS Office applications/Google documents/sheets/slides for reporting.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Experience/Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous experience with Outside Plant (OSP) fiber and fiber cabinets is highly desirable. Experience with specific equipment manufacturers (e.g., Corning).</li>\n <li>Familiarity with network security products.</li>\n <li>Familiar with Amy installations</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Special Requirements/Security Clearance</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Active Secret Clearance or higher</li>\n <li>Must be able to travel 90% of the time on deployments for both CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Physical Demands</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).</li>\n</ul>",
