S/he provides hands-on assistance in the areas of arbitration, negotiations, and political campaigns. The Senior LRR reports to the Field Director and is responsible for coordinating Field Office activities. The Field Office staff includes 10 to 12 Labor Reps and two administrative employees.</p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p>This is a great position if you want to make a difference in improving lives, education and communities. Do you set high goals for yourself and exceed them? Can you work independently and as a valued team member? If you have experience in this field and feel passionate about a golden California this opportunity may have special appeal to you!</p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p>The California School Employees Association represents over 250,000 school employees who work in 750 school districts in California. They provide support services to school children as para-educators, administrators, food service, bus drivers, nurses, and skilled employees in grounds, maintenance and operations. CSEA is the largest independent classified school employee union in the AFL-CIO. If you are passionate about serving our communities, schools and members, then CSEA may be the place for you!</p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p><strong><em>Examples of Duties:</em></strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Assists Labor Relations Representatives with collective bargaining, arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges, organizing, political campaigns, advocacy</li>\n\t<li>Coordinates and directs political activities for the Field office</li>\n\t<li>Trains new staff</li>\n\t<li>Participates in, leads strategic planning meetings</li>\n\t<li>Develops strategic plans</li>\n\t<li>Coordinates and conducts training for labor reps and members</li>\n\t<li>Prepares reports, charts, graphs</li>\n\t<li>Writes, reviews briefs, presentations and training materials</li>\n\t<li>Delivers presentations and reports at meetings and conferences</li>\n\t<li>Works closely with the Field Director to ensure efficient and timely operations</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p><strong><em>The ideal candidate should have:</em></strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>3 years experience in labor relations, collective bargaining and organizing</li>\n\t<li>Bachelor &#39;s degree; Master&#39;s degree preferred</li>\n\t<li>Specific knowledge and experience in organizing and campaigns; collective bargaining, arbitrations</li>\n\t<li>General knowledge of the Education Code, EERA, PERB, California politics</li>\n\t<li>High initiative, terrific interpersonal skills, a sense of humor, and be efficient and detail-oriented</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p>Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities will be considered.</p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p>The salary range for the Senior Labor Relations Representative is $104,073 - $151,393. Starting salaries are typically at the first step on our salary range, although consideration may be given for candidates with exceptional qualifications and experience.
