This role ensures full compliance with LAUSD OEHS, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and AQMD regulations while driving a proactive safety culture throughout the organization. The Safety Manager maintains a strong field presence, develops and implements comprehensive safety programs, and partners closely with project leadership to integrate safety planning into daily operations. This position directly impacts workforce safety, project execution, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction.</p>\n<p><em><strong>#LI-JM1</strong></em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong>:</p>\n<p>- Oversees and manages the Safety Officer(s).</p>\n<p>- Lead and enforce compliance with LAUSD OEHS, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and AQMD safety and environmental standards across all projects.- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Job Safety Plans (JSPs), hazard analyses, and company safety programs.- Maintain HEPA vacuum certifications and ensure all equipment meets LAUSD, Cal/OSHA, and AQMD environmental requirements.- Maintain and manage AQMD registrations, permits, and certificates for regulated equipment.- Oversee hazardous waste transport and disposal under CA DOT and EPA regulations.- Conduct routine and unscheduled site inspections, safety audits, and jobsite safety meetings.- Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.- Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Field Technicians to embed safety planning into daily work activities.- Serve as the primary company liaison during LAUSD OEHS, AQMD, and regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.</p>\n<p>- Develop and deliver safety training programs for field personnel and management.- Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports for executive review.</p>\n<p>- Track safety metrics, trends, and leading indicators to drive continuous improvement.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong>:- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or related field (emphasis on Safety) or equivalent relevant experience- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health- OSHA Confined Space Entry – Construction- OSHA Fall Protection Training and Certification- Asbestos Building Inspector Initial (AHERA)- Asbestos Management Planner (AHERA, 16 Hours)- Operations & Maintenance (AHERA, 16 Hours)- USEPA Lead-Safe Renovator (RRP) Certification- CPR/First Aid Certification</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Desired/Preferred Qualifications:</strong>- Minimum 2 years’ experience in school district or public-sector construction.- Experience managing AQMD compliance programs.- Strong leadership and safety enforcement skills.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).</p>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>\n<p><strong>C1 BENEFITS</strong>* 401(k) Plan (35% employer match per dollar up to 10% employee contribution)</p>\n<p>* Medical Coverage (3 platforms: UnitedHealthcare, Reference Based Pricing includes member advocacy; and Kaiser)</p>\n<p>* RX Home Delivery</p>\n<p>* HSA with Employer Contribution* In-vitro Fertility (treatment coverage)* Dental* Vision (2 plans: 12-month and 24-month frames allowance)* FSA Plans (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Limited Purpose)* Pre-tax Commuter Plans* Employer-paid Life Insurance* Employer-paid Short + Term Disability* Long Term Disability (2 plans: Employer-paid or optional Self-paid)</p>\n<p>* Paid Parental Leave (4 weeks at 100%)* Employee Assistance Plan* Voluntary Life Insurance for team member, spouse and child</p>\n<p>* Voluntary Accidental Death for team member and spouse* Legal/ID Theft Plans* TeleHealth * Wellness via Omada Health (healthy living solution)* Travel Assistance* Business Travel Accident Coverage</p>\n<p>* Medical for foreign travel coverage</p>\n<p>* Employer-paid Pet Telehealth* Accident Insurance* Critical Illness Insurance* Hospital Indemnity Insurance* Volunteer Time Off</p>\n<p>* 10 Holidays</p>\n<p>* Summer Sizzle</p>\n<p>* On Demand Pay (Daily Pay) </p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong>Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment.
