Accountability.</b></i></p><p></p><p>This role will work within our innovative <i><b>Data &amp; Technology group </b></i>that continues to evolve to meet business needs, fuel Parexel&#39;s growth and enable improved support for stakeholders, including customers and ultimately patients, who will benefit from Parexel&#39;s integrated processes and systems.</p><p></p><p>This role can be based in either <i><b>Poland, Romania, Hungary, Serbia or Lithuani</b></i>a <i><b> </b></i>and can be<i><b> fully home based </b></i>and<i><b> remote working </b></i>anywhere in any of these countries<i><b>.</b></i></p><p></p><p>As the <i><b><span>Associate Director, Data Engineering</span> </b></i>you will be a hands-on leader responsible for enabling Parexel’s data movement within the Enterprise Data Lake and delivering standardized operational data products across <b>clinical, safety, and corporate domains</b>.</p><p></p><p>You will also contribute to <b>data lake strategy, engineering, and operations</b>, as well as <b>enterprise integration capabilities</b> and the <b>data preparation</b> required to power analytics, AI enablement, and sponsor data delivery.</p><p></p><p>You will partner with Data and Technology, the Data and Analytics CoE, and the business to ensure <b>trusted, high-quality, and well-governed data</b>, consistent definitions, and reliable data movement across the enterprise.</p><p></p><p><u><b><span>Accountability:</span></b></u></p><p></p><p><b><span>Data Lake Engineering </span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Contribute to the strategy, design, and roadmap for the lake house, based on a medallion architecture that supports reporting and analytics aligned to operational, clinical, financial, and safety needs.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Lead engineering activities across data ingestion, transformation, storage, and optimization within the Enterprise Data Lake.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Oversee the performance, quality, reliability, security, and lifecycle management of data in the lake environment.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ensure scalable engineering pipelines across data domains (for example, clinical, safety, financial, HR, and scientific) that align with governance requirements</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Delivery Excellence &amp; Cross-Functional Leadership</span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Serve as a subject matter expert in data delivery, aligning data products and services with organizational priorities.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Lead cross-functional prioritization and delivery processes to ensure cohesive, timely outcomes.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Champion transparency and communication of data technology roadmaps.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Team Leadership &amp; Organizational Development</span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Build, mentor, and lead global data engineering teams.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Champion capability development in cloud engineering, Databricks, CI/CD, SQL, and Python.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Promote a culture of innovation, operational rigor, and customer-focused delivery.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Education:</u></b></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, <span>or a related field is required or e</span><span>quivalent data engineering leadership experience.</span></p></li><li><p>Master’s degree preferred.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Skills:</u></b></p><ul><li><p>Extensive experience implementing and supporting enterprise data initiatives on cloud platforms.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in modern data management and data-sharing tools, programming languages, relational databases, data transformation, and development frameworks.</p></li><li><p>Experience with GxP regulations in a life sciences environment is highly desirable.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated expertise in data and cloud platforms, particularly Azure Databricks.</p></li><li><p>Deep understanding of architectural best practices and application design and estimation processes.</p></li><li><p>Significant experience with medallion architecture-based data lake implementations; Power BI experience is preferred.</p></li><li><p>Advanced level in SQL querying and query tuning is mandatory.</p></li><li><p>Thorough knowledge of application architectures and enterprise application ecosystems.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Knowledge and Experience</u></b>:</p><ul><li><p>Strong and vast IT experience developing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale enterprise integration services and platforms across multiple hardware and software environments, with substantial expertise in emerging computing architectures.</p></li><li><p>Advanced level experience leading teams in data delivery management and execution, including major projects in data management, data integration, and analytics.</p></li><li><p>Clinical IT experience is preferred.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><i>Strong in-depth leadership or line management experience, including:</i></p><ul><li><p>Successfully developing and implementing applications in new computing architecture environments using innovative technologies.</p></li><li><p>Managing technical personnel across multiple project lifecycle phases;
