The role works closely with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data solutions while ensuring performance, scalability, and production stability.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Primary Location:</strong> Toronto, ON</p>\n<p><strong>Work Model: </strong> Hybrid 3-Days Onsite</p>\n<p><strong>Employment Type: </strong> Contractor</p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Status: </strong> New</p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead the design, development, and maintenance of end-to-end ETL/data pipelines from source systems to data warehouse and data marts </li>\n <li>Provide technical leadership, including code reviews, standards enforcement, and mentoring of ETL developers </li>\n <li>Design and implement scalable and efficient data transformations, including cleansing, aggregation, and integration using AB Initio </li>\n <li>Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for high-performance data processing </li>\n <li>Oversee ETL job scheduling, automation, and monitoring using Unix and shell scripting </li>\n <li>Ensure data quality, integrity, and alignment with enterprise data warehouse standards and best practices </li>\n <li>Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions </li>\n <li>Support deployment, QA/UAT testing, and ensure stability and reliability in production environments </li>\n <li>Drive continuous improvement of ETL frameworks, processes, and performance</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field </li>\n <li>5+ years of work experience as an ETL Developer building and maintaining data pipelines </li>\n <li>Proven hands-on experience with AB Initio for ETL design, development, and data transformations </li>\n <li>Strong expertise in SQL, including complex query development and performance tuning </li>\n <li>Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data marts and data modeling fundamentals </li>\n <li>Strong experience working in Unix/Linux environments with shell scripting for automation and orchestration </li>\n <li>Experience building and maintaining enterprise data pipelines (source → staging → data warehouse → data marts) </li>\n <li>Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills across ETL workflows </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or leading development teams </li>\n <li>Strong collaboration and stakeholder communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>NICE TO HAVE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience in large-scale enterprise or consulting environments </li>\n <li>Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) </li>\n <li>Familiarity with data governance, data quality, or metadata management frameworks </li>\n <li>Experience with additional ETL or data integration tools</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT ADASTRA</strong></p>\n<p>Adastra is a global leader in AI and data-driven transformation, helping organizations lead with artificial intelligence—responsibly, strategically, and at scale.
