Each schedule is provided 2 weeks in advance. We train individuals that are naturally welcoming and committed to carrying out our mission by providing excellent customer service to our donors. BBD encourages work-life balance for all our staff and look forward to adding individuals who want to be in a healthcare role to the team!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>***Shift Schedule: Morning, Evening, and Weekend shifts are required. Schedule released 2 weeks in advance***</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>6-8 Weeks of paid training. First 3-4 weeks of classroom training takes place in our Christiana Donor Center/HQ in Newark, DE.</li>\n <li>This position offers a 3-step career ladder for new employees until they develop and successfully demonstrate the skills to learn advanced blood collection procedures.</li>\n <li>This position is “essential” during severe weather or emergency operation events.</li>\n <li>Conducts donor interviews in a confidential professional manner to determine donor eligibilities according to BBD standards.</li>\n <li>Initiates whole blood collection/phlebotomy procedures and monitors the donor’s progress, according to BBD collection guidelines.</li>\n <li>Prepares for donor interviews and blood collection by ensuring that interview materials and phlebotomy equipment and supplies are set up and/or operable in keeping with Quality Control standards.</li>\n <li>Exemplifies BBD’s Customer Service Mission and Core Values.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have your own reliable vehicle</li>\n <li>Must have a valid Driver’s License</li>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent is required</li>\n <li>Minimum of 2 years of face-to-face customer service experience</li>\n <li>Minimum of 1 years of successfully managing multiple tasks in a fast paced working environment</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Founded in 1954, Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) has served the Delmarva Peninsula for 70 years, delivering nearly 90,000 lifesaving blood products annually to 40+ hospitals, EMS and healthcare partners.
