    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Apprentice Nursing Student works under a supervising licensed nurse serving in the role of mentor. The responsibilities of the Apprentice Nursing Student include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The Apprentice Nursing Student must exhibit the ability to work with people form diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education required:</strong> High School Diploma/GED. Candidates must meet the following criteria: Enrolled in a Board approved nursing education program; Actively engaged in a registered apprenticeship; Has obtained a Student Nurse Apprentice permit issued from the Alabama Board of Nursing. </p>\n<p><strong>License, certification and/or registration:</strong> BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period</p>\n<h2>About Us</h2>\n<p><strong>DeKalb Regional Medical Center</strong> celebrated its 35th anniversary in October 2021. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and the American College of Cardiology as a Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center. It was also awarded the 2023 Get with the Guidelines Rural Stroke Bronze Quality Award from the American Heart Association. In fall of 2023, DeKalb Regional was one of seven hospitals in Alabama to receive an “A” grade from The Leapfrog Group. </p>\n<p>DeKalb Regional Medical Center has 500 employees and more than 100 members of the medical staff.</p>",
