Description
St. Leonard’s Community Services, London & Region (SLCS) supports and advocates with people who are, or may be, justice‑involved, offering purposeful, person-centered programs for adults and youth across adult residential, youth and adult community programs, and school‑based/youth diversion services. SLCS has been a trusted partner in the region for over 55 years, operating four adult residential homes, and delivering 20+ programs, grounded in restorative practices with the majority of our resources invested in direct services.
As we embark on a new strategic plan that will guide our vision for the agency from 2026 through to 2031, SLCS is recruiting a Manager, Fund Development. The Manager will be instrumental in developing and leading our first long-term fund development strategy. By expanding our visibility, sharing our vision and mission, cultivating new donor relationships, and developing multiple new revenue streams, we will amplify our impact and ensure more people in our community will have access to the support they need and deserve. Join us in shaping a sustainable future for the people we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the development of SLCS’ first comprehensive fund development strategy, including annual and multi-year plans, incorporating a range of solicitations and giving campaigns
Support the development and management of the fund development budget
Building and executing a donor acquisition and growth strategy
Design and manage donor and partner engagement opportunities by developing compelling cases for support and tailored proposals
Creating objectives, timelines and performance measures aligned to our strategic priorities
Analyzing and reporting on fund development data to evaluate fundraising solicitations, identifying new revenue sources, and optimizing fund development performance
Establishing fund development policies and procedures for the organization, ensuring legislative compliance, and providing guidance on ethical fundraising
Identifying grant and proposal opportunities that align with strategic priorities, leading the process from application through reporting, enrolling colleagues as needed to support the process
Engage staff and leadership on priority fundraising initiatives, providing education and guidance, cultivating organizational ambassadors, and fostering a culture of philanthropy
Partnering with internal resources, crafting philanthropic communications within multi-channel campaigns
Required Qualifications:
Post-secondary education from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
5+ yrs. fundraising experience in a charity/non-profit or a sales/business development role
Demonstrated success in donor relations, grant writing, and fund development
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with strong public‑facing communication and relationship‑building abilities
Proficiency with donor management/CRM systems (e.g. CanadaHelps or similar) and MailChimp
Valid G Class license and a reliable vehicle
CFRE or Fundraising Certificate/diploma is an asset
Candidates who are proficient in both official languages of Canada is an asset
What We Offer:
At SLCS, we provide meaningful and rewarding career opportunities, that includes a total compensation package:
Employer paid Benefits Package
4 weeks paid vacation to start
Employer RRSP Contributions
Investment in your professional growth through professional development funds
Paid Personal Time
Wage grid includes annual wage progression
The role involves a combination of on‑site work at our head office (405 Dundas St.) as well as attending community‑based appointments. Occasional travel within London and the surrounding region will be required. Hours of work are generally regular business hours, with flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.
This position requires a clear Police Check with Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) screening as a required condition of employment, as per SLCS policy. We adhere to the French Language Services Act and are committed to equity, diversity, and an inclusive, barrier-free workplace under the AODA. Accommodations are available upon request in relation to the materials or processes to be used. If accommodation is needed during recruitment, please inform the contact person. This position is a new position at SLCS and we do not use AI in screening applicants.
SLCS values a diverse workforce to achieve our mission. We encourage applications from racialized communities, First Nations, Inuit, Métis, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disabilities or chronic illnesses, diverse faith communities, and those with varied lived experiences. Feel free to share your story in your cover letter.
Internal applicants will be considered in alignment with SLCS’s performance and attendance standards.
