    "description": "<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">School Year: </span>Late August, 2026 </span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Summary of Position: </span></span></p>\n<p><span>The Classroom Aide works alongside our trained guides/teachers, primary classroom assistant(s) and other team members to support a classroom of children ages 3-5 at our tuition free full day Montessori school. The Classroom Aide will be responsible for handling a variety of tasks both inside and outside of the classroom. This position may be  assigned specific children for additional support throughout the school day related to that child's special educational needs. This will include using interventions recommended on the child's special education plan and high level of patience and care   </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>This is a part-time non-exempt 14-week temporary position. Working 25 hours per week, the schedule will generally be Monday 10am-3pm; Tuesday - Friday 9am-2pm.   The start date, compensation package, and key information are detailed in writing upon acceptance of employment, and the schedule may be updated in writing by the School Manager/Director. This position will require training during employment, which will be paid work time with training costs covered by AEME. </span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">El auxiliar de aula trabaja junto con nuestros guías/maestros capacitados, el/los asistente(s) principal(es) de aula y otros miembros del equipo para brindar apoyo a un aula de niños de 3 a 5 años en nuestra escuela Montessori gratuita de jornada completa. El auxiliar de aula será responsable de realizar diversas tareas tanto dentro como fuera del aula. Este puesto puede incluir la asignación de niños específicos para brindarles apoyo adicional durante la jornada escolar en relación con sus necesidades educativas especiales. Esto incluirá el uso de las intervenciones recomendadas en el plan de educación especial del niño y un alto nivel de paciencia y dedicación. Se trata de un puesto temporal de 14 semanas, a tiempo parcial y no exento de horas extras. La jornada laboral es de 25 horas semanales, generalmente de lunes a viernes de 10:00 a 15:00 y de martes a viernes de 9:00 a 14:00.</span></p>\n<p><span> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Minimum Requirements Include: </span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Age 18 or older </span></li>\n<li><span>Must complete background screening by the State of Oregon, complete and provide verification of mandatory health and safety trainings (</span><span>CPR/1st Aid, Child Abuse &amp; Neglect, and Food Handlers) prior to working within the classroom. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span>And, </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Assessed to have the skills and personal attributes to perform this role consistently. </span></li>\n<li><span>Experience (and joy in!) working with young children, including children with delays, disabilities or behaviors that are impacting learning</span></li>\n<li><span>Compassionate communication style and positive attitude</span></li>\n<li><span>Highly dependable- will consistently arrive on time and complete work tasks.</span></li>\n<li><span>Must have a High School Degree or GED or skills necessary to perform this role well. </span></li>\n<li><span>Personal dedication to continual self-improvement and skills growth. </span></li>\n<li><span>Significant physical abilities including mobility in the classroom/outdoor areas, lifting/carrying, reaching/handling, talking/haring conversations, near/far visual acuity/depth perception/accommodation/field of vision. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Preference for Applicants with </span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Direct experience within our Montessori classrooms, OR 1+ years experience in a Montessori Primary or Infant/Toddler classroom.</span><br></li>\n<li><span>Current enrollment in Oregon Central Background Registry, and up to date with CPR/1st Aid, Food Handlers, and other required training with an AIDE 2 status.</span></li>\n<li><span>Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English – written and verbal </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Daily Responsibilities: </span></span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><span>Work with the teacher, other staff to create a welcoming learning environment that demonstrates respect and kindness, and supports positive relationships between students. The aide models and teaches with dedication to equity, diversity and inclusion, using age-appropriate conflict resolution and problem-solving strategies in the classroom.  </span></li>\n<li> Provide assistance to assigned child(ren)  to help them fully benefit from the Montessori classroom.  <br></li>\n<li><span>Work as a team to promote positive work dynamics and care of the children/classroom.</span><br></li>\n<li><span>The aide pays close attention to the safety of the children. No child should ever be left unsupervised either inside or outside the classroom. Adhere to staff/student ratios of 1/10 and always sign-in and out of the classroom and verbally communicate with team before leaving the classroom/playground for other work tasks or breaks. Aide 1 staff are not to be unsupervised with children. </span></li>\n<li><span>Classroom Preparation: daily general cleaning, refreshing classroom supplies, space organizing.</span></li>\n<li><span>Assist the children in the development of independence. This will include supporting children in choosing purposeful activities and assisting children with their communication or helping them resolve conflicts.</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide toileting support and active assistance to a child when a toileting accident occurs. This includes changing diapers or pull ups.</span></li>\n<li><span>Develop and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with each child, while respecting and fostering her/his independence. Using positive language phrases and words with the children. Providing emotional support and understanding through active listening and feedback.</span></li>\n<li><span>Set up and put away napping cots and linens. </span><span>Washing and caring for linens for program/classrooms.</span></li>\n<li><span>Nutritional program support: Snack prep or transferring of meals between cafeteria and classroom. </span></li>\n<li><span>Perform all other duties as assigned. </span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Other Responsibilities: </span></span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><span>Learn the first name or preferred name of each student as well as their parent/guardian for daily greeting and building positive relationships.</span></li>\n<li><span>Remain eager to learn and grow skills within the classroom environment. Ask the teacher to provide training and coaching in providing lessons or classroom tasks. </span></li>\n<li><span>Make classroom materials under the guidance of the Lead Guide/Primary Classroom Assistant.</span></li>\n<li><span>Communicate promptly information shared by a parent/guardian with the Lead Teacher or School Manager as appropriate. </span></li>\n<li><span>Assist with arrivals and departures of students.
