Position Summary
Works under administrative supervision to provide support and spiritual guidance to individuals and groups which include inmates.
Pay Grade: 45
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience with increasingly responsible human resources administrative services processing duties; AND Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, management, finance, or a closely related; OR An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience. Experience working for a large public entity is preferred. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates and processes changes to employees’ records according to Shelby County policies and legal regulations. Reviews documents before processing transactions to ensure accuracy. Provides administrative support to Human Resources and Payroll personnel. Responds to inquiries and concerns from employees while maintaining security and confidentiality. Investigates and resolves any human resources administrative services payroll related issues or discrepancies. Responds to inquiries received for employee records, unemployment claims and invoices, military leave, work visas, verifications of employment and other agencies. Administers the time and attendance system as it is related to entering data into the timekeeping system. Prepares data control reports and records required for auditing. Conducts human resources administrative services training sessions. Performs other related duties as required or directed.

Ability to provide guidance and advice to management on complex issues. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Proficient knowledge and skill in interpreting, explaining, developing and applying procedures. Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, devise practical solutions to complex problems and communicate in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
