Two (2) weekends every six (6) weeks.\n<strong>Department:</strong> Inpatient Unit\n<strong>Salary Range: </strong>$36.73 - $51.43 / per hour (based on experience) (\n<em><strong>Sign-On Bonus eligible!</strong></em>) \n<strong><em>Join our Team!  RiverView Health is currently looking for a Med-Surg/Labor & Delivery RN to join our Inpatient Team.</em></strong> Qualifications: \n<p>The Labor and Delivery and Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The RN assesses, triages, and treats patients with a wide range of medical conditions, ensuring timely and effective care in collaboration with the healthcare team.</p>  Essential Functions: \n<ul>\n <li>Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in electronic health records (EPIC) and documentation standards.</li>\n <li>Compassionate, patient-centered care.</li>\n <li>Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient advocacy skills.</li>\n <li>Minimum 1–2 years of experience in OB or Medical-Surgical nursing (cross-training preferred).</li>\n <li>Utilize critical thinking to manage rapidly changing patient conditions.</li>\n <li>Initiate life-saving interventions during obstetric or medical emergencies.</li>\n <li>Emergency Response to medical and surgical patients</li>\n <li>Cross-train to Emergency Department to assist as needed.</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.</li>\n <li>Communicate effectively with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams.</li>\n <li>Educate patients and families on prenatal health, postpartum recovery, disease management, medications, and discharge instructions.</li>\n <li>Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies (e.g., hemorrhage, preeclampsia).</li>\n <li>Deliver postpartum care, including breastfeeding support and newborn education.</li>\n <li>Assist with vaginal and cesarean births, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety.</li>\n <li>Support patients through labor and delivery, including pain management and emotional support.</li>\n <li>Obstetric Care.</li>\n <li>Provide wound care, manage surgical incisions, and prevent infection.</li>\n <li>Monitor vital signs and promptly respond to changes in patient condition.</li>\n <li>Administer medications, IV therapies, and prenatal/postoperative treatments safely.</li>\n <li>Perform thorough patient assessments, including maternal-fetal monitoring and head-to-toe evaluations.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Minimum(s):</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current State of Minnesota RN license is required.</li>\n <li>Current AHA certification in ACLS, PALS, and NRP are required for this position.  Will provide training to those that do not currently have active certifications.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>Preferred(s):\n<ul>\n <li>1+ year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience</li>\n <li>1+ years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>Competencies:\n<ul>\n <li>Must work well under pressure and be sensitive to concerns and confidentiality of the patient</li>\n <li>Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds with professionalism and care</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment</li>\n <li>Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills</li>\n</ul>",
