Join CommUnify&rsquo;s team by becoming an Early Head Start Teacher Assistant!&nbsp;</p><p>Under the supervision of a Site Supervisor,<strong data-pasted=\"true\">&nbsp;</strong>assists classroom Teachers in providing for the responsive care and education of children ages six (6) weeks to thirty-six (36) months in an Agency Early Head Start center.</p><p>Our agency provides employees with a positive work environment and the ability to balance work &amp; home along with excellent benefits. Our benefit package includes: medical, dental, vision, life insurance including sick, vacation, and personal leave with 11 paid holiday&#39;s and a fully vested retirement plan with an up to 5% match.</p><p>Position is full-time with full benefits. Starts out between $18.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on how many Early Childhood Education units you have completed. Position is located at the Goleta Early Head Start Center.</p><p>This positions also has a $5,000 hiring incentive, paid in two (2) installments at the completion of the following employment milestones: After 90 calendar days of employment, $2,500 paid in the sixth payroll after hire AND after 180 calendar days of employment, $2,500 paid in the twelfth payroll after hire.</p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong>: &nbsp;<em>Other duties may be assigned</em>.&nbsp;</p><ul><li>When in the teacher/child ratio, maintains 100% supervision of all children, by sight and sound at all times.</li><li>Consistently uses positive child guidance methods.</li><li>Assists caregivers in planning and carrying out curriculum for children ages twelve (12) weeks to thirty-six (36) months.</li><li>Assists children with toileting, diapering and/or feeding and other physical care needs.</li><li>Maintains the confidentiality of records and information about enrolled families.</li><li>Meets on a regular (daily/weekly) basis with the caregiving staff to plan activities to meet the needs of the children in the program.</li><li>Attends and contributes to regular staff meetings and curriculum planning meetings.</li><li>Helps to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment.</li><li>Helps to implement the curriculum under teacher direction, including small group, field trips, mealtimes, and one on one activities with children.</li><li>Assists in setting up meal preparation, mealtimes, and helps with clean up.</li><li>Works with individual children or groups of children on activities as assigned.</li><li>Contributes to child observations and ongoing assessment.</li><li>Assists with children during indoor, outdoors and on field trips as assigned, under the supervision of a caregiver.</li><li>Set up cots/mats for nap time and assists children during napping.</li><li>Attends parent meetings and home visits when requested.</li><li>Develops positive relationships with each child and with parents.</li><li>Is aware of all center&rsquo;s children with food allergies, and ensures they receive the doctor recommended substitutions.</li><li>Is sensitive to children with special needs.</li><li>Functions as a positive team member. &nbsp;Communicates effectively with families and co-workers.</li><li>Performs other comparable related duties as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skill &amp; Ability Required</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Education and/or Experience:&nbsp;</strong>Child Development Teacher Assistant Permit or higher from California Commission on Teacher Credentialing6 units in infant/toddler development required; new hires may complete after hire by enrolling in infant/ toddler development coursework within 3 months of hire and must successfully complete 6 units of infant/toddler development coursework within one year of hire.</p><p><strong>Computer Skills:&nbsp;</strong>To perform this position successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; and Word Processing software.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:</strong>&nbsp; Obtain and maintain a current Child Development Permit for position held. &nbsp;Must obtain and maintain a Pediatric First Aid and CPR card. &nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Other Skills and Abilities:&nbsp;</strong>Experience working with children with disabilities desirable; Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desired.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>CommUnify, EOE</strong></p><p><br></p><div><div class=\"fr-view\"><div><div class=\"fr-view\"><div><div><div class=\"fr-view\"><div><div class=\"fr-view\"><p><br></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
